POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Want to dance more like a professional dancer? I’ll show you how.

Here are Thalia’s tips to help you relax into a better dancer:-

🌟 go easy on yourself. RELAX! Most people feel nervous and/or self conscious at the start of their dance journey. That feeling will pass.
🌟 Let your hair down (literally). Let it whip.
🌟 Wear clothes that feel comfortable to move in and you feel great dancing in.
🌟 Turn the lights down low! I’m a big advocate for flattering lighting in my dance studio.
🌟 FUCK IT! Adopt my mantra for the year and be fierce.
🌟 Practice. The more you dance the easier it gets and the better you look dancing.
🌟 Act up. Be someone else for that hour. Maybe you’re channelling Beyoncé @jlo or @justintimberlake ?!

And finally...

🌟 NO ONE IS LOOKING AT YOU… 🌟

Read that again.

🌟 NO ONE IS LOOKING AT YOU!!! 🌟

Everyone is looking at themselves or the dance teacher (me)!

Get started today and sign up to a Neon Fuel dance class (website link in bio). NEW ROUTINES DROPPING NEXT WEEK IN Buckinghamshire and London.

I’m tagging people who let themselves go when they dance.
@beyonce - Ms Fierce herself.
@_caro_hotstuff - The clue is in the name! I love having Caro in my class.
@iamlucalucifer - he’s in nearly all my videos and stands out for all the right reasons.
@marieforleo - she’s an expert in this and loves street dance.
@hungry_somm - she puts her all into classes
@nikamusicofficial - yes, Nika is a singer/performer but observe her in my class and learn from her.

Sunday Social.

Check out the energy from this weekends class @westfieldlondon. LOVED IT!

Now covid has (sort of) gone, we are all enjoying being sociable again. Isn’t it great! Although, I quite liked the excuse of covid to hibernate a little!

One part of my job is to be commissioned to choreograph pieces for people. This has been for TV, film and theatre but a lot of my commissions are more personal.

I’ve been commissioned for all sorts of things in the past:-

💃 Birthday parties
💃 Corporate events
💃 Wedding dances
💃 A personal piece
💃 Or just someone just wants to show off! And why not?!

Message me if you are interested in a commission.

I’m getting back to my 🍷 and continuing my chilled weekend.

Sunday Social…

I’m exhausted after what has been a busy and successful week.

The charity events in aid of @chooselove in Amersham and London were amazing. And a big thank you to all that turned up and to those that sponsored me.

The @justgiving page will remain open for another week so you still have time to donate. Everyone has been so generous.

I’ll be posting videos from the events shortly. In the meantime, check out the new routine from Saturday @westfieldlondon. It was a fun one.

I hope you have had a good weekend.

F*ck it!

I’ve just started reading a book called The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by @markmanson. The premise of the book is that you shouldn’t constantly strive for positivity and perfection as you’ll only be disappointed. It’s an interesting concept. I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve read it.

In my classes, I always ask ‘who has sort of got it?’ and ‘who needs help with the moves?’ I stress that ‘sort of getting it’ is what you’re looking for. I never expect you to get everything straight away or at all.

Dance is great for building confidence but it can also be an intimidating prospect, especially if you’re new. I hear the following statements from new clients on a regular basis:-

👉🏼 You think everyone is looking at you. They’re not. Dancers are either looking at themselves or me.
👉🏼 You worry the other dancers think you don’t belong. They definitely don’t think this. Remember, they were all new at one point and felt the same way. They understand how you might be feeling.
👉🏼 You think you’re awful. You’re not, you’re just learning a new skill.
👉🏼 You think you’re slowing the class down. You really aren’t.
👉🏼 You want to give up. DON’T! However, dance isn’t for everyone and maybe it’s as simple as that. No offence taken if you don’t come back!

But, trust me, with practice, you’ll get it…sort of.

Tagging fabulous people who seem to embody this. Please feel free to tag others who have mastered the art of not giving a f*ck.

Neon Fuel loves…

Shiny, sparkly, metallic stuff.

I’m like a magpie when it comes to anything metallic, shiny and/or sequinned. I can’t help but check it out. I think my obsession started with my first ever dance costume. Sequins galore! Luckily, my kids also adhere to this sartorial stance.

My wardrobe is full of metallic and/or sequin bags, shoes, trousers, tops, dresses, socks, dancing stuff, nail varnishes etc. I can’t help myself and it makes me so happy.

I will wear outrageously shiny, sparkly clobber to any occasion and at any point in the day. You will regularly catch me at the school gates, in the @coopuk or, obvs, on a night out in some sort of sequin or metallic get up. I don’t believe in keeping things for ‘best.’

Over lockdown #1, I found a friend in @trinnywoodall @trinnylondon @trinnylondonteam. To be clear, we’re not actual friends. Although, I have had little daydreams where Trinny and I go shopping together and then head to Scotts for lunch! We had a blast…in my head! Please be my friend, Trinny!!! 😜

If you haven’t already, then please check Trinny out. She’s fabulous, funny and also loves shiny stuff!

Up the ante with something sparkly. Christmas is a great excuse to start. You’ll feel and look great. 🎄
