I’m very honored to have been able to host this conversation surrounding some deeply systemic issues in the dance industry as a whole.

Since beginning my journey online I’ve tried to lead with transparency, honesty and education. I love dance and I know a lot of us do, but with that comes standards of resection, appreciation and reverence.

My goal with this discussion was to bring together thought leaders, professionals and artist that could speak to not only their individual perspectives but to the wider dance experience.

When I saw what transpired with UDA nationals and the conversations being created I wanted to continue that in hopes of pushing the needle forward.

These amazing humans lended their time and energy to the conversations being created and I cannot thank them enough.
This is a conversation about appropriation vs appreciation, representation of people of color within dance and much more.

A lot of the dance styles we all love are deeply rooted in individual cultures and being aware of that allows us to respect and appreciate them.
Enter this conversation with an open mind and heart and you’re bound to learn something.
