What do you want to see? A dream or a reality? I suppose it’s a matter of how you look. Not so much where.

In Colombia, I saw beauty on the streets. And on one fortunate day, I saw it flying from tree to tree.

The irony is, we could have missed it had we been busy chasing the next thing. Instead, we stayed home, reading on the porch. After coffee, that familiar guilt crept in. Shouldn’t we be getting up to something?

Late that morning, a toucan landed on the ledge. For the better part of an hour, it kept us company. It felt like a dream. ❤️‍🔥 🇨🇴

we spent the last few months making the most beautiful book ever, about the most beautiful brand ever. (yes, yes, I’m completely objective.)
300 pages, more than 40 years of travel, hundreds of images, endless details, and one big question: what does it mean to travel today? Voyageurs du Monde: A Manifesto for the New Traveler, published by @assouline, is our answer. a book about travelling with instinct, curiosity and freedom. about taking the road less obvious, changing plans, getting lost, staying longer. about everything that has shaped @voyageursdumonde for more than four decades and everything we want to carry into the next ones.
very, very proud to have helped bring this one to life.
And now it’s finally out in the world. ❤️

Our Manifesto for the New Traveler is out.
Available now at our link in bio.

We spent months putting more than 40 years of travel, convictions and passion into 300 pages. This (very) beautiful book, published in English by @assouline, brings together everything that makes up the soul of @voyageursdumonde and what it means to travel today. Who is this new traveler? A traveler who is instinctive. Curious. Free.

A huge thank you to @assouline for bringing this book to life, to @melindalp for finding the right words to introduce our story, to @jf.rial for his vision, and to @nathalieblr for her impeccable taste.

May this book find its way to you.

“Do you ever see yourself settling somewhere?”

I get asked this question more and more lately. Guess I ain’t getting any younger.

Time goes by quick, doesn’t it?

The typical response is a quick no, followed by a smile, and for the sake of play I say, “Sicily.”

“Italy’s beautiful.”

No, no, no. I’m not talking about the mainland. For me, they’re two separate countries.

A different speed. color. feel.

My friend from Sicily joked with me. “What’s America like now?” he asked.

Why?

“I’m just curious what it will be like here in twenty years.”

The truth in that is what makes it funny. And I know it’s a big reason why I love the island. It reminds me of a different time.

Being here, I’m forced to slow down. Asked to forget everything that’s not right in front of me. There’s something intoxicating about that. Almost painfully nostalgic.

I can feel myself being pulled further away from whatever invisible string has attached itself to me. And that alone makes me feel closer to who I am.

But what would happen if I stayed too long? I fear that feeling would disappear. Life here would become like life anywhere.

Why go and spoil it?

We have been dreaming of a Peru trip for the past few years and can’t believe it’s finally happening next May! 🌸 A week filled with creative exploration: photo walks through Cusco markets, a photo shoot with Peruvian designs, visits to Andean art spaces, a natural dye workshop with the Pumaq Wasín weaving co-op! Well wander through terraced fields and mountain villages, visit the Maras Salt Flats, the Pinkuylluna ruins, and share homemade meals with local artisans and families. Along the way, we’ll talk cameras, creative inspiration, culture, and the stories behind the images we’re making—while connecting with the incredible women, artists, and communities. We now have 4 spots left ✨

Photos by one of our favorites @iackiecole who we hope to have as a guest photographer on a future trip! 🩷
