Antonio Hernandez | Hospitality and Tourism
#CareerClusterSpotlight: Antonio Hernandez 🍽️✨

For Antonio Hernandez from Iowa, a future in Hospitality and Tourism has been years in the making.

Growing up around a family-owned Mexican restaurant sparked an early interest in food service and entrepreneurship. Since then, Antonio has explored culinary arts, baking, hospitality, and business while developing a dream of one day owning a restaurant, bar and grill, bakery, or another food-service business.

FCCLA has helped strengthen the communication, leadership, problem-solving, and sales skills needed to make that dream possible. Conferences have also introduced Antonio to new ideas, trends, and opportunities within the industry.

The growth has extended far beyond career preparation. After once being the member sitting quietly in the corner of chapter meetings, Antonio stepped outside of his comfort zone, attended National Leadership Conferences, became more confident, and eventually rose to serve as Chapter President.

This is what it looks like when career preparation and leadership grow together. ❤️

Being an education major in college, I am surrounded my so many amazing and inspiring future teachers! Educators are such an important part of society, and seeing so many people around me want to pursue a career in the Education field is such an incredible thing! This post includes some of my friends and mentees who are future teachers, and some teachers/professors who have made big impacts on me!
Huge thank you to all of the teachers out there! Your work does not go unnoticed!

Final Fall Leadership Rally is complete!

I am so grateful for the past 3 years that I have attended a Fall Leadership Rally with @iafccla. This one felt different, serving as a state officer and it being the last. I loved seeing all the members who came to Iowa State University and attended my workshop. Thank you everyone for making FLR so special!

NLC 2026 looked a little different for me this year, but I wouldn’t change a thing!

As a lot of you know, I had the wonderful opportunity to serve as the Leadership and Programs Intern for FCCLA this summer! At NLC, I got to work behind the scenes, which was such an amazing experience! There were many long days and definitely some aching feet, but it was all so worth it! It was so great getting to see everyone at NLC, and thank you to everyone who stopped to say hi and/or talk to me!

I also got to accept my award for the EXPLORE Future Adviser Academy that I completed earlier this year!

To the 25-26 NEC, THANK YOU for being such an amazing group to work with at NLC! I am so excited to see what you guys do next!

And to the 26-27 NEC, CONGRATULATIONS and good luck! You will do amazing things this year!

I had such an amazing time at this year’s FCCLA National Leadership Conference!
This conference gave me the opportunity to attend valuable leadership training sessions with the Iowa State Executive Council, compete in my STAR Event, and connect with so many incredible FCCLA members from Iowa and across the nation. I will never forget this experience, and I am so excited to continue serving as the Iowa FCCLA First Vice President this year. Here’s to another year of leading, learning, and making a difference! ❤️

Hooray for FCCLA!

Loved every minute spent at National Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. the past week. From sessions, competing my STAR event, going to the Nationals game, and everything in between, nationals was a blast. Serving as the VP of PR has been the biggest blessing and I am so thankful for the opportunity. I even got Gold for my STAR event, an accomplishment I am so grateful for!

I am leaving NLC filled with pride, joy, and countless memories. I can’t wait for the year ahead!
