I bought 3 postcards from the vintage market in Sicily. The postcards were from Spain and they were flamingo themed. I was intrigued by the design of the embroidery and sequence. I think it looks like it was made in the 60's Claude, the AI was right, 60's and 70's. . #postcards. #unique #Spain #vintage

The preliminary painting for this glock was actually created as an eleventh hour contribution to a fundraiser for Dunwich State School during @iam_straddie Arts Trail.

This Iridori gouache is practically gold leaf. It works so well for the banging colour I look for.

CALLING QUEENSLAND FIRST NATIONS WOMEN WEAVERS AND FIBRE ARTISTS

Parados Education is seeking up to three contemporary Queensland First Nations women artists working with weaving, fibre, textiles or natural materials to collaborate on TIDELINES—a proposed cultural exchange between Queensland and Sumba, Indonesia.

The first phase will take Queensland artists to Sumba in 2027 to meet, yarn and make alongside Sumbanese women weavers across generations. Together, we will explore ikat and pahikung weaving, sustainable practices, local materials and the connections between culture, creativity, community and place.

This women-led project aims to create a new body of contemporary work while supporting confidence, cultural continuity and future creative opportunities for young women in Sumba.

We are looking for artists interested in:

• intergenerational learning and cultural exchange
• sustainable, place-responsive practice
• culturally safe, reciprocal ways of working
• supporting creative pathways for young women

These are paid professional collaborations, including supported travel, subject to funding. Cultural authority, ICIP, intellectual property and creative independence will be respected.

Interested? Contact Hayley at hayley@paradoseducation.org by 17 September. Please share with your networks.

The mosaics of the Roman Villa of Tellaro near Noto Sicily. In the 1970's the council decided it was time to put mosaics on display. The team went to painstakingly remove first the debris covering then the mosaics from their place and peace by peace to then relay exactly as it was on a new floor undercover #mosaics #gothic #Roman #noto
