There is a thread I have been following for a long time,
though I am only now finding more words for it.

A return to the body.
To our inner nature.
To movement, touch, tattoo, sensuality, expression.
To the fierce, the tender, the playful and the wild.

These themes have woven themselves through my life and work for years,
and lately I have been reflecting on what might live beneath them.

Perhaps it is a remembering of ways of meeting ourselves through ritual, embodiment, art, elements, devotion and community.

Of ancient ways of relating to the body not as something to control,
but as something to listen to.

I feel drawn to walk this path more consciously.
Not as a title, or something I have mastered,
but as a way of listening, learning and serving.

One initiation, one body, one encounter at a time.

I am delighted to announce our second Muse of the season, the epic Casey Lee. A 14 year old student and a teacher of the flames (yes real fire baby). She is the founder of Sacred Flames and this is her very first podcast 😏

In this episode she shares the immensity of what this journey with leadership, fire, performance and community has taught her over the years.

From the hula hoop as her first boundaries, to learning how to sip our intensity, having our leadership behavior revealed by the fire and the group dynamic, to renegotiate the contracts we never sign and learning to trust ourself deeply.

That episode is for women who lead and wanna find out how to do it from the deep listening of the body.

All of this was shot on a cellphone, so I am in need of an update with some good camera equipment :D And more fire.

In 2023 I went to Burning Man for the first time and it was so much bigger, brighter, and wilder than I could have imagined! It was astounding, hot, magnificent, dusty, brilliant, and very, very muddy. But there were still people laughing in the face of calamity. At one point we were informed that this much rain and mud in a temporary city of 80,000 declared MudMan a national emergency. 2 minutes after learning I was in a “national emergency” a group of people in inflatable bull costumes chased their matadors down the muddy streets and we raised a glass of margarita to Jimmy Buffet. I came in with the divine honor of emceeing a packed house for the Muse Cabaret, and spent the week in the enchanting decadance that felt like an old school French saloon. I was so nervous about feeling unprepared going into the Burn, and yet I felt fully supported and encouraged throughout it all. Good people and beautiful art make for deep magic in the most desolate places. I met so many brilliant, creative people, and deepened connections with friends I already love and admire.
I haven’t been back for 3 years, and I almost said no again this year. Actually, I did say no. I thought I was making a decision that seemed reasonable and responsible… but, this wild and weird and wonderful place kept pulling me back in with too much opportunity and serendipity to ignore. So I am leaning into invitation and intuition, and trusting that my YES is bigger than my fears.
To Explore,
To Express,
To Expand.

And to deal some mother lovin Black Jack with Frick Frack
And to return to the glamorous Muse Cabaret with comedy, hoops, and fire
And to build cool things with people I love and admire
And to play as much acro and aerial as possible
And to dress like a princess and howl like a banshee
And to see all my favorite far away friends who I only get see at burns and festivals
And to spend a week in the fullest expression of myself and my creativity to take some of the magic home with me
And to burn away what no longer serves me.

Comment "burn" and I will send you the Better Playa Guide, with all the most updated set times that aren't in the official guide pulled from camps' own Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram channels, because they are usually just image flyers.

I took the What Where When guide and added everything the camps only ever post in their own channels, then made the whole thing searchable and savable in plain language.

You can use the totally offline app or download it into your AI OS and quickly build where your favorite friends and artists will be before your Burn, as it knows your Spotify favorites, what things you would be excited to seem etc.
Star things.

You can ask it things like:
• "When is pizza being served?"
• "Where and when are my friends Shalman and Kalypso playing?"
• "Is Layla Martin giving a workshop this year?"

I built it for myself. This is how I maximize my burn, so I am not sitting on the side of the road flipping through an outdated book.

It works completely offline. Open it once before you go, add it to your home screen, and it runs all week with no signal. Use it before the burn to plan, then just as a reference while you are out there, so you can stay present.

It is free and there is no account. This is my playa gift, and I am covering all the token costs.
