Day 5 of ÌMÍ 2026 was a quiet return to the self.

Through conversations with OSAZE EFE @osaze_efe and a movement masterclass with Chibueze Iyele @hermesiyele , we were reminded that every creative journey begins within.

We reflected on authenticity - not as something to perform, but something to protect. We explored movement not as choreography alone, but as presence, awareness, and a way of knowing ourselves.

Together, the day asked us to pause before asking what we are building, and instead ask why.

Because purpose is not simply discovered.
It is practiced.
It is deepened.
It is embodied.

As Osaze left us with these words:

”Find your why, Remain in it, and Rise in it like a majestic mountain”

During ÌMÍ 2026, Hermes Iyele led a movement masterclass that invited us deeper into the body.

A space of presence.
Of awareness.
Of returning.

Through guided exploration, participants engaged movement as both expression and inquiry - listening to the body beyond surface, beyond form, beyond expectation.

It was not performing.

The body revealed new pathways, new textures, new possibilities.
A reminder that movement is not just what we do. It’s how we know.

During ÌMÍ 2026, Addy Daniels @pray4addy opened a portal into Afrobuck - an experimental movement language rooted in African rhythm, street dance (Krump foundations), and contemporary exploration.

Existing between tradition and disruption, Afrobuck holds space for ancestral memory, raw emotion, and present-day realities to meet in the body.

This was not about perfecting form.
It was about questioning it.

Through guided improvisation and movement research, participants were invited to listen deeply - to rhythm, to self, to space - and to move from intention rather than imitation.

Here, the body became a site of honesty.
A place to resist fixed aesthetics.
A space to discover a personal voice.

Afrobuck is not static.
It is living.
It is evolving.
