In case you haven’t heard - we’re making a mini movie!

10 local businesses have got involved to make this magic happen and we’re so grateful for everyone pitching in and being a part of this.

The whole reason we wanted to make this film was to shine a spotlight on our gorgeous town of Saffron Walden, help promote us and other local independent businesses.

It’s taken just over 2 weeks to film in between everyone’s schedules with approx 12hours actual shooting time to produce a 8 minute short film 😮‍💨

🧟 It’s a zombie comedy, with inspiration and parody of the Shaun of the Dead film (if you haven’t watched it - you’re missing out. 10/10)

🎬 We’ve now filmed all the bits - on to editing!

👀 Keep your eyes peeled next week when we release the full mini movie!

Turns out running a rally school doesn’t mean we spend all our time at one, or we do and don’t have photo evidence 🤣

Between family life, work, adventures and everything in between, here’s a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to this week.

And why mostly off the gravel?

Because apparently asking the boys to take photos while they’re rallying is asking far too much! 🙄😂🏁

A little more of the life behind Langley Park. ❤️

Today’s filming consisted of one of our goriest scenes!

Big shoutout to @florencethedietitian for putting up with our crazy ideas and being an absolute trooper! And to @burtonsbutchers for supplying the props 🤪

Plus we finished @iamharrisoncantel last scene - the zombie fight!!

So excited to get this edited and show you all! 🎬

What an absolute banger of a day! 🤩

Filming day 4 🎬 loved getting to make up 3 zombies, run full speed down gold street and shoot several scenes all in one morning! 😮‍💨

So grateful for everyone who’s agreed to be in this mini movie - excited to edit and show you all! Ahhh

(Also finished the day off with 3 neon splatter sessions - very messy. Very loud. But lots of very happy painters!) 🫟

Day 2 of #battleofbritaindisplay #duxford. Sadly a Flat Display with no aerobatics due to the low cloud! Still was good fun! Thank you all so much for all the support and photos. Thank you @iamharrisoncantel for the great shots! #airshow #theflyingcomrades #formationflyingwithfriends

Our week in some photos 📸

Tried my first ever pumpkin spiced latte and can confirm it’s actually pretty good and worth the hype 🎃

Prepped for a internal wall mural

Hosting the Content Collective as usual with @iamharrisoncantel

Realised one of our plants is dying? @jacqandwillslandscapes please help us! (Even though we didn’t get it from you, was a shop-bought one 🫣)

Complete said mural! Nerve wracking splattering inside as it’s very much a one-take wonder - but it worked out! 🫟

Then Had a very busy weekend at the studio, lots of splattering, all ages from 7 up to 70! Parties, friends celebrating and school mates catching up

Plus we splattered these funky pot from @theplantpantry.sw that went along with the mural!

All in all a busy week 😮‍💨 we’ve also just updated all of our workshops for the next 4 months, so if you want something to do as the evenings get darker and more rainy, be sure to check them out!

Next week is even busier with lots of corporate events on outside of The Splatter Room! Bring it on 💪🏻

Come spend a “day-off” with us as we juggle coffee, catch ups, deliveries, and a private event!

Even when our studio hours are shut we’re still working hard everyday answering emails, taking deliveries, making sure the studio is stocked and clean and hosting private events!

(Yes, we will host your private event any day of the week if you have a specific date/time in mind, just ask!)
