Opportunities don’t always announce themselves. Sometimes they knock when you’re already in the room. This is a look at some of the actors who have stepped in front of the camera at our CONNECT/CREATE™ mixers — building their materials, meeting other creatives, and getting themselves ready for whatever opportunity comes next. Because this has never just been about getting a headshot or filming a demo reel. It’s about community. It’s about access. It’s about creating a space where actors can invest in themselves and be READY when the right opportunity finally knocks. You shouldn’t have to wait until you book the role to start looking like someone who’s ready for it. And you shouldn’t have to build alone. Nearly 200 actors have now come through our headshot mixers since we launched in May. Our Saturday, October 24th Fall Series is already over 50% full — and there are only 3 demo reel spots remaining. If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, this is your sign to get in the room. Comment “REEL” below to request an invitation for Saturday, October 24th. The opportunity may come later. Your preparation starts now. 🎥 @austinjamesdolan @abarcystudios #FilmAndTV #ActorCommunity #DemoReel #ActorLife #LosAngelesActors

Your headshot is not just a photo. It’s often the first thing a casting director, producer, manager, or collaborator sees before they ever meet you. If your current headshot no longer represents where you’re going, waiting another six months to update it isn’t helping you move forward. On September 20, we watched dozens of artists step in front of the camera, refresh their image, and leave with something they can actually use. The difference isn’t just the photo — it’s knowing your materials finally look like the artist you’re becoming. And we’re doing it again. @austinjamesdolan of @abarcystudios is coming back behind the camera for our October 24 headshot mixer. If you’ve experienced Austin’s work with us before, you already know what he brings to the room. But your headshot session is only part of the day. Your headshot pass gives you access to the entire CONNECT/CREATE™ experience — the mixer, industry speaking segments, and acting workshops happening throughout the day. You’re not just walking in, taking a photo, and leaving. You’re putting yourself in the room, meeting other artists, learning, creating, and building relationships. Only 20 headshot spots are available. You can keep using the same headshot and telling yourself you’ll update it “soon.” Or you can make the investment in your image and put yourself in the room where the next connection could happen. Lock in your headshot spot before the 20 are gone. 🎥 This highlight reel was filmed and edited by the amazing @itsbarrydaly #LAEvents #ActorHeadshots #ActorsInLA #ActingCommunity #LosAngelesActors

Some rooms are just rooms. Others become momentum. September 20 was one of those rooms. Artists came together to sharpen their image, build relationships, exchange ideas, create opportunities, and remind each other that you don’t have to navigate this industry alone. This highlight reel, beautifully shot and edited by @itsbarrydaly captures a glimpse of that energy. We were joined by @deron_cash @byronpmanuel @starbri @btisme each bringing something different to the room — from industry insight and conversation to performance, creativity, and connection. This is what makes CONNECT/CREATE™ different: you never really know who you’re going to meet, what conversation you’re going to have, or what that connection might lead to later. But here’s the thing about watching a recap: you’re seeing what happened after the fact. There’s a difference between watching the room come alive and actually being in it — meeting the people, starting the conversations, exchanging ideas, and becoming part of the momentum while it’s happening. And the next room is already taking shape. @thepatrickwalker @stephenbarrington and @brandonthomasstudios are returning for our next mixer on October 24. This is what @joinconnectcreate is really about. Not another event you attend, take a few photos at, and forget about. It’s about putting yourself in environments where relationships can turn into collaborations, conversations can turn into opportunities, and the people around you can expand what you believe is possible. So if you’ve been meaning to come to one, this is the time to stop watching from the outside. Your first event could be the beginning of the relationships, collaborations, and opportunities that come from simply putting yourself in the room. 30 Mixer-Only passes available. October 24. Don’t just watch the recap. Be part of the next one. 📸 Huge thank you to @austinjamesdolan for capturing everyone’s headshots so beautifully and bringing out the best in everyone 🎥 Highlight reel shot + edited by @itsbarrydaly #FilmAndTV #ActingCommunity #ActorsInLA #CreativeCommunity LosAngelesActors

Sunday reminded me why I started CONNECT/CREATE™ in the first place. It’s easy to think an event is created by the person behind it. But the truth is, it’s created by everyone who chooses to show up. The actors who came to learn and create. The industry guests who shared their time and experience. The sponsors who poured into the vision. My team who helped bring everything together. And every person who started a conversation, encouraged another artist, shared a post, or simply stepped into the room. That’s the part that means the most to me. CONNECT/CREATE™ is becoming more than an event. It’s becoming a place where strangers become familiar faces, conversations become relationships, and artists remind each other why they started in the first place. The next @joinconnectcreate is Saturday, October 24. @thepatrickwalker @stephenbarrington and @btisme are confirmed, with 1–2 more special guests to be announced. Mixer passes are officially LIVE. Partiful link is in the bio. Founding Members will receive their registration code by the end of today and will have priority registration to attend. Thank you for believing in this. We’re just getting started. More content coming soon ✨ #PhotoDump #LosAngelesActors #LAActors #FilmCommunity #CreativeCommunity

I was going through these photos recently and had one of those moments where I had to stop and think… I can’t believe some of these were taken over a year ago. So much has changed since then. New projects, new relationships, new rooms, new chapters. But looking back at these moments reminded me of something that has remained consistent for me: the importance of showing up for people and genuinely supporting the work they are creating. This Sunday, I’m incredibly honored to welcome two incredibly talented artists into the CONNECT/CREATE™ community: DeRon Cash and Byron Manuel. 🎬 @deron_cash — Actor, Writer & Producer DeRon has built an impressive body of work across television, film, and independent projects, with credits including Michael, Law & Order: SVU, Bosch: Legacy, Caught Up, and North of Hollywood, where he also served as an executive producer. He continues to work across multiple sides of the entertainment industry, bringing a perspective that goes beyond simply being in front of the camera. 🎥 @byronpmanuel — Filmmaker, Writer, Producer & Director Byron has continued to create his own path as a filmmaker, with work spanning projects including Famous-Ish, Trifecta, Swoon, and The Heiress, the Baller and the Secret Society. One of the things I love about having both of them with us this Sunday is that their creative worlds have actually intersected as well — Byron directed and wrote Swoon, which starred DeRon. But as I looked through these throwback photos, I found myself thinking about something… >>> swipe to con’t reading #ConnectCreate #EntertainmentIndustry #ActorNetworking #Filmmaking #LosAngeles I get asked all the time, “How do you get in the door?” or “How do you build relationships in this industry?” And while there are certainly practical answers to those questions, I think we sometimes overcomplicate what genuine connection actually looks like. The truth is, you have to be human. Support someone’s project because you genuinely believe in what they’re creating. Go to the screening. Watch the film. Share their work. Celebrate the premiere. Ask them about the thing they’re passionate about. Show up when you can, even when there is a
