POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The most impactful event in my life so far after the passing of my mother and the people that made it even better. There is going to be a lot of these posts to come. You are all loved !!!

This historic moment was bigger than me, we showed the world that elite athletes can be vegan and not fit the narrative and bring a village of support. Let’s strive to create a world full of true kindness not performative but genuine.

My guy @domzthompson drove from Atlanta with @prettyboyroc whom I adore, to see this event 🥹🫶🏽🌱

You closed your laptop. That doesn’t mean your body is ready for full-speed padel.

A morning at your desk followed by a lunchtime match can mean going straight from prolonged sitting to quick accelerations, sudden stops and overhead shots.

Your muscles haven’t literally “switched off”.. but sitting all morning isn’t preparation for those demands.

In this clip from our @wearerecvrpodcast padel episode, we discuss the missing transition: giving your body a chance to build toward match intensity instead of asking your first rally to do the job.

Think movement first, controlled shoulder work, then progressively quicker footwork and practice shots. Prepare for the movements you’re about to demand..not just the score you want.

For high performers, the goal isn’t to avoid challenging your body. It’s to prepare it for the challenge so the sport you love can stay part of your wellness routine.

Be honest: do you warm up or walk straight from your desk onto the court?

My biggest bet in padel: its accessibility will keep raising the competition.

Compared with tennis’s steeper technical learning curve, padel offers an approachable starting point. But that invitation isn’t just bringing in beginners.. it’s bringing athletes from different backgrounds, each with strengths to build on.

They still have to learn the game. But easy entry doesn’t mean easy competition.

In this clip from We Are RECVR, we discuss why that’s exciting for high performers: new challenges, different opponents and a community that keeps you moving.

The wellness win is finding a sport you want to keep playing.. not letting every loss turn something healthy into another source of pressure.

Which athletes have the biggest advantage coming into padel?

Nearly 14 new padel clubs a day. The appeal goes beyond the scoreboard.

The 2026 Playtomic and Strategy& Global Padel Report recorded 4,969 new clubs worldwide in 2025: an average of nearly 14 openings every day.

There’s a corporate side to this conversation, too. The Times has reported employees from Google, Meta and Goldman Sachs attending padel networking and corporate-bonding days. That employee participation are buying out clubs and driving a specific percentage of reservation revenue.

And that’s why we’re discussing it on We Are RECVR: padel brings movement, competition and community into the same experience.

You get quick, explosive movements that call on power, aerobic activity that expends energy, and a social reason to keep showing up. There’s even early brain-health research: a small study of 24 trained players found a post-match increase in BDNF a protein involved in brain plasticity in the female subgroup, though not a significant increase in men. Interesting science, not a guaranteed brain boost.

The bigger opportunity? Making wellness something people look forward to not another task on the calendar.

Would you rather meet your next business connection over drinks or on a padel court?

You practice your shots. But are you preparing the tissues that handle them?

@iamlancekearse asked what I’d include in a padel player’s protocol. My starting point in this clip: shoulder external rotations with a slow, controlled lowering phase, working the rotator cuff rather than rushing through the movement.

The bigger picture is tendon preparation, from the rotator cuff, to the Achilles, to the elbow’s extensor carpi radialis brevis, a tendon commonly involved in tennis elbow.

That focus isn’t random: a systematic review of padel injuries found that tendon injuries featured prominently, with the elbow the most frequently reported injury location.

This isn’t about fearing the game. It’s about preparing for more of it. A warm-up gets you ready today; progressive training builds capacity over time.

From our We Are RECVR padel episode: train for your next match and keep the long game in mind.

Be honest: do you prepare your body, or is your first rally your warm-up?

You came for the match. You kept coming back for the people.

In this clip from We Are RECVR, we unpack a study of 80,306 adults followed for approximately nine years. Researchers found that racket-sport participation was associated with 47% lower risk of death from any cause compared with not participating in those sports.

An important distinction: the study included tennis, badminton and squash—not padel. It showed an association, not proof that playing a racket sport causes that reduction.

My take? The community could be part of the bigger picture. When your people are waiting on the court, movement becomes something you look forward to—not another obligation. That’s the longevity conversation I want the padel community having: what keeps us active, connected and coming back for years?

What keeps you playing: the competition or the people? Tag your court partner.

“Everyone’s flocking to padel. Almost nobody’s preparing for it.”

That’s the pattern: driven people discover the fastest-growing sport in the world, bring their full intensity to it and their tendons are screaming from the load. Tennis elbow from backhands ripped at full speed. Achilles from hard stops on legs that sat at a desk all week.

The cruelest part isn’t the pain. It’s the sideline. For the person who does everything at full speed, being sidelined isn’t rest … it’s grief. You don’t miss the game. You miss who you are in the game.

So if padel is your new obsession, treat it like one: load the tendons before they load you. Eccentric heel drops: 3 sets of 15, twice a day, straight leg and bent leg. Boring. Unsexy. The reason you’ll still be playing in ten years.
Your ambition got you on the court. Your preparation keeps you there.

Mental Health Awareness Everyday. 🧠

Bridging the Gap between occasional check ins, & keeping one’s mental health at the forefront of all that we do. If the mind goes, the body & actions will surely follow.

Continue to help be a part of changing the narrative. As we believe faith in God is the foundation to all our mental iniquities, God also positions people (Therapist/Counselors/Mentors etc) to help guide & help us when it is needed.

Speak up, reach out, ask for help, be there for others.

No longer celebrating a month, but steadily checking on yourself & others around you, pushing mental health awareness EVERYDAY. Let’s continue to change the narrative.

When did sprinting stop being something you just did?

In this clip from our Muscle Is Longevity episode of We Are RECVR Pod, Lance makes a point: the way we move when we’re young helps build the foundation for how we move later. Running, jumping, landing, and changing direction are abilities we practice, not abilities we can assume will always be there.

If you haven’t sprinted in years, going all-out tomorrow isn’t the answer. Your muscles and tendons need time to adapt to load again. Build strength, reintroduce speed gradually, and give your body a reason to stay capable.

And if you’re already in your 30s or well beyond them it’s not too late to start. The goal isn’t to train like a teenager. It’s to keep building a body that can do more of what you love.

High performers: when was the last time you actually sprinted?

You’re chasing what’s next. But are you keeping the muscle to do it?

In a clip from our latest We Are RECVR Pod episode, Muscle Is Longevity, I talk about the muscle we can lose as we age and why high performers should pay attention before it starts affecting what they love to do.

A commonly cited estimate is 3–8% muscle mass lost per decade after age 30, with decline generally accelerating later in life. That’s a reason to train with intention, not a prediction of what will happen to you.

For me, the goal is usable muscle: the ability to push, pull, carry, squat, hinge, hold, and step with confidence. Don’t just ask, “How do I look?” Ask, “What can I still do?”

Which movement do you want to stay capable of for life?

12K steps or strength training which matters more for longevity? @iamlancekearse picks strength training. Then @thedrbobby pushes back: a squat builds strength, but it doesn’t replace the coordination required to walk well.

That’s the real debate in this Muscle Is Longevity clip from We Are RECVR Pod. Your step count tells you that you moved. It doesn’t tell you whether you’re maintaining muscle. And a strong squat doesn’t tell you everything about your gait and balance.

The research gives us reasons to value all three:

• A 2025 review found that 7,000 steps a day, compared with 2,000, was associated with 47% lower all-cause mortality. You don’t have to hit 12K to see a meaningful association.
• A review of muscle-strengthening studies linked strength activity with 10–17% lower risk of all-cause mortality and other major outcomes.
• The CDC recommends aerobic activity, strength training and balance activity for adults 65 and older.

Those studies don’t prove that lifting beats walking or vice versa the percentages come from different comparisons. Our takeaway: keep walking, build strength, and practice moving well.

High performers: if you could improve only one right now your steps, your strength, or your balance which would you choose?
