Thanks a million to singer/songwriter @iammakena for letting me paint her today at my studio. This is her song here “Natural Born Pessimist”! I love her music. Go to Makena’s Insta or Spotify page to listen to more. Makena is so darn talented and writes songs about her life. We had an amazing convo over about 3 hours - two creative souls connecting. That is what I love about meeting and painting incredible people from all walks of life. It is a truly unique experience - and honor.

As I attempt to connect with more singer-songwriters, another one I found and would love to give a shoutout to is @iammakena. Like many of her fellow singer-songwriters, she has faced many obstacles in her life and talks about how important mental health is to her and writes about those experiences in her songs. She has also had experiences related to heartbreak and having been through a heartbreaking friendship breakup myself almost two years ago, I can relate to her songs about heartbreak and as someone with autism, I am also a strong mental health advocate. I’m so happy I found Makena and I hope to meet her at one of her L.A. shows sometime! Love you so much, Makena!
