How do you design a café to be quiet?

I call it The Museum Effect.

Walk into a beautiful gallery or museum and something interesting happens: you naturally lower your voice. Nobody tells you to. There’s no sign asking you to whisper. The space itself changes your behavior.

We believe the same thing can happen in a café.

When you combine art, acoustics, thoughtful materials, softer soundscapes and an atmosphere that feels considered, people unconsciously start behaving differently. Conversations become calmer. Voices get lower. The room feels slower.

And when everyone speaks just a little softer, everyone else can too.

It creates a positive loop of quiet.

We spend so much time thinking about how spaces look. But rarely enough about how they sound and how that sound makes us feel and behave.

That’s what we wanted to explore with The Silent Club.

A place for coffee, conversation, work, art and a little less noise.

Welcome to Our Silent Club Café

Love my new piece from Aarhus-based @arturel.studio 🤎 Arch by Kvadrat Really X Arturel. Acoustic art that is both aesthetic and gives me a better indoor environment in my home and homeoffice. Produced from recycled materials and handmade in Denmark.

EDGE & DARK collection in the unique conic design language. These tapered edges provide a wider and softer light whilst adding an aesthetic dimension to any interior.
