Not pictured and less glamorous accomplishments:
- bought a car, got a refund for said car, then bought a new car (all within a month)
- Applied to grad school, got accepted, then decided not to go into horrible debt
- Worked many random jobs
- Felt like I was going insane
- Watched Heated Rivalry way too many times

Also it wasn’t work but I saw my friends Ada and Jay in the middle of all this and wanted to include the picture lol

It’s been an insane few months and freelancing can be really rough but I’m SOOOO thankful for all the people I’ve met and the projects I was a part of!!! (I ran out of tags very quickly but I care about you all!)

Next stop: Associate Production Manager at Bay Street Theater 🌊🎉☀️🕺🎭

If I hadn’t randomly seen that Tisch weekly opportunities email in my inbox, if I hadn’t applied, and honestly, if they hadn’t accepted me, my life would not be where it is right now. To put it simply – working on Café con Leche with the @tischcreativeresearch team and the HEAR US Grant cured in me the deep seated trauma I carried from my undergraduate experience, where I suffered such racist indignities and mistreatment that I quit theatre forever. Truly. I vowed that this art form I deeply love would NEVER get anything from me again, because if this was the way I was going to be treated, then I was going to be the one rejecting THEM. It’s why it took me so long to get here, to trust again in others, to write, but it’s also why I have hope again. They gave it back to me, through actions, not words.

These last two years have been the cocoon my little musical, that I started writing in my room during the pandemic in May 2021, needed to grow. And now, thanks to their support, I’m teaching it how to fly. I don’t know what the future holds for Café con Leche, but this reading closes this chapter of its life, which is also the beginning of something new and exciting.

Long live the HEAR US Grant! ❤️

Special thanks to all the actors who read my script on that cold December day (thank you for saying yes!!) + to EVERYONE who helped me put this piece together over the last two years, but specially those who read the HORRID Summer 2025 Draft with me – your feedback helped me course correct and finally, after 4 years, get me over the finish line. :)
