I’ve always wondered what I’d look like as an all encompassing, etherally tantalizing, globally southern peacock.

From @sudan of course. And London town.

YES.

The peacock, it sheds…

Every year, that whole magnificent tail of theirs just disappears.

Then it grows back. In cyclic renewal.

A mesmerizing resurrection after every mammoth loss, written into body. Annually.

Every feather carries an eye by the way. Fanned open, you’ll find a hundred eyes all watching, observing.

Protecting, at once.

In @sudan’s Nubian territories, they were understood as the all-seeing eyes of Amun, the Most High.

A mass protective (and stunning) presence of heavenly guardians.

There, for you.

Emerald is the birthstone babes.

Make it hug.

Gold is literal health (heart).

It is wealth, essence, abundance and power.

It is also the heaviest on any given crown, attracting a near and far envy like one of those many cursed gifts.

It shines, in glory, in grief and in pain.

A dichotomy within nuance, radiantly rare, and always fought for.

A velvety black can only be the delectable draping of night’s light…

Get it.

Oceanic blues echo that of the lapis lazuli stone, carried from Afghanistan through Byzantium and right into the Pharaonic hands of Nubian art.

You get.

Over the past 30+ years the term ‘Nubian’ has been placed within an African American dictionary to simplistically define skin color, and possibly a sense of ancestral regality.

While also, perhaps unknowingly, removing the actual existing identity.

It’s important to clarify that Nubians, along with their largely destroyed/hijacked Nubian territories, are NOT a gimmicky myth for Wakanda lovers.

Nubians actually exist, here and now, as an ancient and sacred community and culture.

Nubian terrains cut across today’s falsified idea of ‘Egypt’ and (more largely) Sudan. Nubians are therefore generally found all over Sudanese soil - particularly in the North and by the river Nile - as well as in the Nubian land of Aswan, which was stolen from Sudan, by ‘Egypt’, via ‘Great’ Britain.

Unfortunately, and due to the all-round visceral and physical theft of African history, Nubian customs, teachings, pyramids, ideologies and historical symbology are regularly mistaken as ‘Egyptian’.

They are not.

Additionally due to present day Sudanese and Egyptian governments so heinously exploiting our Nile-filled fertility, water, wealth and power, Nubians have been forcibly displaced, scattered, killed and ripped apart. From land, river and soul.

Not just recently, obviously, but for thousands of years - by Arians, Ottomans, Europeans, immigrated ‘Egyptians’, and more.

Nevertheless, the Nubian people have held on tightly to their heritage, their traditions, their Pharaonic languages and who they truly are, to this day. With continued efforts in cultural preservation and ongoing legal battles to get their lands back.

In all of this, they also have to tolerate the most sickening kind of racism - from the descendants of their vicious and historical invaders. Or their own neocolonial (and vicious) abiders.

So… next time you hear the cute phrases of ‘Nubian Queen’, ‘Nubian Princess’, ‘Nubian King’ etc... Know that this isn’t just about wearing a dashiki.

Nubians originate from the oldest and most stunning civilization known to man…

And, in full ancestral connection, they ARE most originally Sudanese.

Always will be, no matter what.

“Bday Season is officially LIVE…”✨

Indeed, for those new to my world, the whole of this magnificent month is my birthday.

Yes. Every single day in May. From 1st to 31st. Mine.

The 2nd being my earthly arrival. The rest being an ongoing celebration of surviving said arrival.

Feel free to spoil me, bigly, traditionally… congratulatory, at any given moment.

For those unable to shower Rozan with hugs, vibes and gifts, you can always make a kind donation to @themagicdrive or @chooselove - where focus remains on nothing but immediate peace and direct support for those suffering (unfathomably) in my hurting nation of @sudan.

A sacred and stunning nation STILL stuck in the perpetual and divisive cycles of state-orchestrated warfare well beyond my time on this oddly operating planet.

Let’s hope the spirit of @michaeljackson, who’s currently overwhelming us all with his prophetic legacy of untouchable light. Of *decent* humanity. Of mesmerizing execution in delivering a sense of unity…

Let’s hope, in his return, and our continuation - that all darkness is finally and fully exposed. Punished and devoured.

For now, in immense love and gratitude, enjoyment takes center stage, as it should, regardless✨🎂✨

It is with shattered but deeply grateful hearts that we honor the life of the great Abdel Gadir Salim, a pioneering giant of Sudanese music whose voice, for over half a century, carried the dream of national unity, the truth of our beauty, and the peace we still so desperately need.

Salim passed away in his Omdurman home on 16 December 2025. His story is not only a part of #SoundSudan history, it is embedded in our future…

A hopeful future he sang into our souls, even when a post-independence oppression sought to suppress it.

In 1962, two years before Sudan’s first revolution against government tyranny, Firgat Fnoon Kordofan (the Kordofan Artist Collective) was established in El Obeid. Salim being one of its leading members.

As Province Administrator of the Directorate, Al Sayed Abbas Ahmed chose to protect the collective’s talent, at a time when culture itself was an act of resistance.

It was through this bond that Salim grew close to the entire Ahmed family — performing at the weddings of Abbas’ daughters and forming a lifelong friendship with his son, Dr. Omer Ahmed.

Years later, in 2004, in the midst of yet another war, Dr. Omer’s daughter, Rozan Ahmed, encountered ‘Ceasefire’, the now-classic LP by Salim and South Sudanese superstar Emmanuel Jal. What made the album more remarkable was its recording: Thousands of miles apart. Without Jal and Salim even meeting. They created only by conviction, trust and an unshakeable belief in peace.

With the help of her father, Rozan made it her mission to bring the artists together. LIVE. In Sudan.

That mission became a reality when all four custodians convened for the first time at the Nubian Club in Khartoum. A moment made more stunning with a full live orchestra in 2014, making ‘Ceasefire’ the most profound declaration of Sudanese unity.

Today, after 60+ years of brutal war, Sudan and South Sudan are separated. Sudan, still trapped in the ongoing rotation of state-orchestrated bloodshed.

Salim however, alongside many musical greats, never stopped declaring the existence he believed in, even in the face of exile and attempted erasure.

It is in his legacy, we always continue.
