#ThrowbackThursday to my tribute cover & issue of @curvysta magazine which I shot in my hometown of #Baltimore 🫶🏾 The feel was like the rose 🌹 who grew thru concrete! There’s beauty to find there even within some of the roughest places. Also there’s amazing people, art and great food! We worked so hard on this shoot too! From mood boards to the font used on the layout, everything was intentional! It was important to do a shoot of this magnitude for a magazine that serviced my community of plus size fashionistas who have rode with me for yearsssss! Also to show that plus models could shoot with edgeeeee! Not new to this but true to this! ENJOY!

Leimert Park Photowalk with my students and their moms was such a sweet day of learning and teaching. I love these intimate groups—half the crew went from never holding a camera to shooting on manual by the end of the walk. I also got to see my neighborhood through a fresh lens. Huge thanks to my guest mentors @zaymonae @nnylak @iamsuede for always sharing your wisdom 🤎 And deep gratitude to the organizations I work with, Heart of Los Angeles and the SoLa Foundation, for creating exciting opportunities for our youth. If I were a parent in LA, I’d definitely enroll my children in their programs!

May was a locomotive of loss, lectures, lessons and liminal spaces.
I am thankful to the present authors, scholars, practitioners and artists who shared their energy. Respect to your craft and action!
I can still feel the reverberations of the ancestors who have moved on. Their light shines upon us.
The force don’t stop.
I was inspired to make some images and do the research to develop my practice.
Look to the horizon.
Rest assured that there is new work coming!
