Job’s not done until every single youth is back with their families and loved ones!

We are extremely proud of our brother and immensely grateful to @hoops4justice @urbanpeaceinstitute @ib2_real and the entire team for bringing The Hug Act over the finish line! There is still a lot more work to do and Sidóh will always be committed to amplifying the community’s voice especially our youth. Feel free to check out our brother’s artwork along with his classmates up on the walls of Sidóh!

The Trump administration is sending ICE agents into our neighborhoods, suing our state for voter records, and raiding a Congresswoman's home, all for the same one reason: to intimidate us and try to stop us from voting.

But as California Assembly member Issac Bryan @ib2_real said on CNN the other night: California has one of the safest, most secure and accessible voting systems. We won't be intimidated.

Ballots are already in the mail in California. Fill yours out, drop it off, and cast your vote as soon as possible.

One of the greatest joys in my life has been working with you all!

@liv_biv , Look what we did! WTH! I still can’t believe the universe brought us together. We walked into rooms like… how did we even get here..but passion, determination and an unwillingness to stop fighting for the kids carried us though. Through the hard times that felt impossible to some of the most joyful moments of my life, we were really just living off instinct and sprinting to the finish line. Did we even come up for air? Who do we even think we are 😂😂😂😂

The @hoops4justice team..we are the little engine that could. Because of who we are and what this work means to all of us Hoops’ impact is so much bigger than Hoops. We really survived and thrived. When it felt like we wouldn’t make it, against the wall of resistance that we were up against at times, we held each other together.

We care for the kids we serve with our whole hearts and through all the chaos, we care for each other.

@hoe.swey @showatanabe @lamberthiguera @desmar123456 @jayare_hb_ @thejungle_alligator I love you all so much I can’t describe what it feels like.

@ib2_real and @cacapitol916 ! You made dreams come true and gave a whole generation of youth in the halls the belief that together they can, in the words of Caleb “move mountains”. @ib2_real …you didn’t even flinch!! You said yes without hesitation when most people in power would have paused. You trusted the kids to be right when so many would have stopped to analyze and theorize …you just believed.

@reallyjohnjohn and @get2_it00 you spoke to the public safety committees like you were speaking to each of their souls from your own. It’s hard to ignore something honest when you hear it and you’re two of the most brilliant and courageously honest people I know. I love you both so much.

To the coalition, you are the best coalition anyone could ever have. You put the kids first at every step, gave their votes more power than your own and let them lead the efforts. You played the support role to them and their families and empowered them with the tools and knowledge to win. You worked so hard and put your whole hearts in it.

As we head into the midterms, voters deserve to know where state leaders stand on the issue of care💜

The recent H.R.1 legislation changed Medicaid and now California legislators will help determine what those federal changes mean here at home for caregivers, nursing homeworkers, seniors and people with disabilities.

That's why SEIU 2015's Care Leader Pledge asks state leaders to put their commitment to care in writing: protect care access, fund critical care and keep Care as a California Value! These care leaders have taken the pledge:

𝐄𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟐𝟕
𝐁𝐨𝐛 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐚 — 𝐒𝐃-𝟑𝟎
𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐊𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐧-𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟒𝟐
𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐳𝐚 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟓𝟐
𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐨 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟔𝟔
𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐚𝐜 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟓𝟓
𝐋𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝-𝐂𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐬 — 𝐒𝐃-𝟐𝟖
𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐫 — 𝐒𝐃-𝟐𝟎
𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐳 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟓𝟒
𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐜𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐫 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟔𝟏
𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐋𝐞𝐞 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟐𝟒
𝐀𝐬𝐡 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐚 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟐𝟓
𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐲- 𝐀𝐃-𝟏𝟕
𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬 — 𝐀𝐃-𝟐𝟔
𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐞 — 𝐒𝐃-𝟏𝟓.

Last week, I had the honor of being in LA alongside our amazing coalition of advocates from across California, our Assemblymember, youth and families from Los Padrinos, and so many dedicated supporters as we came together in LA to celebrate AB 1646, the HUG Act, being signed into law!

On Tuesday, we had a press confrence and at the Board of Supervisors a motion was brought forward to implement this law immediately in LA!
ANOTHER WIN!

This is what collective advocacy looks like! From the youth and families directly impacted to the advocates and leaders fighting alongside them, every voice matters. These are the moments that remind us why we continue to show up, organize, and fight for meaningful change.

When we come together, we create change! TOGETHER, WE DO THE WORK!

🗳️ California’s early voting is officially underway 🗳️

Here's what we're watching:

➡️ California’s congressional races are tests of the state’s newly redrawn Prop 50 map, which targets five Republican-held seats.

➡️ California’s county-by-county processing causes slow results reporting, which led to Republicans spreading misinformation on voter fraud during the primary. And, we may just see it again this November.

➡️ The DOJ sued to gain access to CA’s sensitive voter information. A major lawsuit is still pending.
