When I say that 2025 was an amazing year, it truly was that and more. I decided that in 2025, I was going to do all the things. I was going to be loudly present and unapologetic. I was going to go after every opportunity, and I did just that. I did not expect the doors that opened for me this year, but I am so grateful they did. ✨ Highlights from 2025 ✨ • Presenting at the @blackingastro Nexus Conference, my biggest opportunity yet (still surreal to be honest) and one that is especially dear to me as I continue building @thesidehustlingmd (follow that page for financial gems). Thank you @dmgraymd for pushing me to realize this lifelong dream had had about all things finances and supporting me on that journey. • Gaining an incredible mentor, @iamdoctoraja , through the @scrubs.n.heels Matrix Mentee Program. Being apart of this cohort helped me to make the decision that I needed to pivot my career. • Developing much needed leadership skills through the ACG Early Career Leadership Program, which pushed me to simply be myself and understand how that directly shapes the kind of leader I am becoming 🌱. My fear of social media, especially being visible, has officially been squashed. After losing my dear uncle to colon cancer, I made a decision. I was going to use social media to spread awareness about colon cancer and all things GI. I never thought my “They Prep Like Us” song would reach anyone, so winning the ACG Scopy Award honestly blew me away 🎶🏆. Turns out, I love content creation and experimenting with it. It has become such a meaningful and creative outlet for me. I am grateful that 2025 reignited an inferno in me to pursue my passions with intention and fearlessness. Thank you all for supporting me through this journey. I truly could not have done it without you ❤️

Some of you know this story, others don’t. When conversations first began about who would lead this fellowship, a few voices said it would never reach its full potential because the potential PD (me) wasn’t well known. That comment stayed with me. Not out of ego, but because I never wanted a trainee to feel their opportunities were limited by who led the program. So I focused on building something that would speak for itself - through our fellows, our faculty, and our work. If they didn’t know us before, I hope they see now what we’re building together. And we’re just getting started. Thank you to @scrubs.n.heels @gohealio and to everyone who voted, who encouraged others to do the same, who spoke my name when I wasn’t in the room - thank you for your belief and generosity! Here’s to silencing the naysayers not with words, but with work that speaks for itself.
