I’ve stood in this spot a lot of times, so many times that I lost perspective on the magnitude and what a privilege it is to be a part of such a landscape we call existence. As the photographer of this pic said “Outside perspective of a spot we’ve internalized is almost an out of body experience when we see it.” Nothing rings more true. Great day in the mountains with good company. Surfs up! 📸 @idahoalpine #snowboarding

A little Flashback Friday from 2006-ish. Ralph, an early student (pictured left) recently sent this photo from the pre-smartphone days. The second photo is of the Oak Atlatl he made. Ralph continued to use the skills, and went on to being an Ultra Distance runner. • The open faced Wickiup in the left background was a shelter I lived in for a few years when not on the Trail. It was made of juniper bark and retained its rich aroma throughout its life. To cook and stay warm a small fire was made at its entrance. • This photo was taken at a time in my life when my annual income was between two, and six thousand dollars a year. Just enough to visit family once a year, and cover a few other miscellaneous. For some, that might not seem like much of a living. However, I considered myself extremely wealthy, and successful. My lower income was by choice. I put all my soul focus into Hunter Gatherer living, sharing the skills, and maintaining my ability to run. My Atlatl could find a squirrels heart at 45 yards, a duck in flight, or acquire a fish 8 feet under. I was still able to run a sub 4:30 mile, and cover 50 miles through the Mountains in 7-8 hours in sandals. • If you want to achieve something, take action. A dream without action is only a fantasy. With action you may exceed your expectations. We are capable of so much. • #earthskilks #primitiveskills #rewild #runwildmychild #mattgraham #motovation .
