POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

.

From movement... to conversation... to moments that stayed with us.

Our first program brought together artists from around the world and audiences in an experience that went beyond the stage, where ideas met, perspectives connected, and art became something to share.

Together with IDEA Festival, this was WUJŨD’s very first step.

What does the connection between EFA and @the_festival_academy (TFA) look like in practice?
→ EFA Members hosting and taking part in TFA trainings
→ TFA Alumni joining EFA events and conversations
→ placement programme inside festival teams, hands-on experience across different cultural contexts and working realities
→ toolkits and publications developed through shared work
→ peer learning across continents, built around real festival environments

The Festival Academy is a global community of 1400+ festival makers from 100+ countries 🌍 It started with the Atelier for Young Festival Managers (initiated by the European Festivals Association in 2006), was officially launched in 2013, and later became an independent organisation.

A few recent stories that show the interaction between both networks in practice:

it's taken a while to land from the jordan atelier. have i actually landed...

i just know that i am still reeling from the intensity of being in an ancient land being torn apart and the enormous love for this land, these people.

dancing, whirling, crying, grieving, truly resisting through joy and defining hope as action.

impressions: brief, searing and indelible.

the faces of a young, poor, palestinian waitress and a wealthy palestinian artist crumpling in exactly the same way as i apologise for my country's complicity.

their faces crushed parchment, the lines there, invisible, never to be erased. the proximity to occupied Palestine, the pain of it.

the open mourning in Jordan, the reminder that as humans we are allowed to grieve and simultaneously look for joy and beauty.

Wadi Rum, overwhelming vastness, dancing at dawn, the desert sands shifting veils, the milky way, pointing to the same star... my heart breaks, it echoes in my body.

limping up and down Amman's many hills and then through Petra....Mount Nebo and Mandaba. sharp pomegranate juice and sweet, thick Turkish coffee.

thank you @the_festival_academy and @idea.jo.dance, @studio8jo wujud, jordan and all my co travelers.May we find always safe harbour in each other.

since i spent a lot of my time not taking photos, a lot of my images from this time are thanks to the kindness of @laeticiaphilantrope @ruby_milk @marsebastia @audreybrisack louisa norman @tammograph @meloria_choi @vigdis.jakobs @hakawatieh and many others.
