Kafka: The Trial

The ballet treats Franz Kafka’s feted novel, revealing the absurdity and cruelty of the bureaucratic apparatus the protagonist grapples with to no avail. Bigonzetti masterfully combines dance, music and imaginative scenery, created by Carlo Cerri. Owing to its black-and-white visual concept and video projections, the production evokes the film noir aesthetics, thus paying tribute to Orson Welles’s seminal cinematic adaptation.

Kafka: Proces

Inscenace zpracovává Kafkův nadčasový román, který odhaluje absurditu a bezvýchodnost byrokratického systému, s nímž hrdina marně bojuje. Bigonzettiho choreografie mistrně spojuje tanec, hudbu a inovativní scénografii Carla Cerriho. Díky černobílé vizuální koncepci a videoprojekcím vyvolává inscenace dojem estetiky filmu noir, čímž vzdává poctu i slavné filmové adaptaci Orsona Wellese.

Kafka: The Trial, choreographed by Mauro Bigonzetti, returns to the stage of the Estates Theatre.

The story of Josef K., who is arrested without knowing the charges against him and drawn into the game of a tribunal from which he cannot extricate himself. In a disquieting atmosphere of alternating light and darkness, the dancers embody the oppressive nightmare of a man destroyed by regulations he cannot understand and rules against which he cannot fight.

Na scénu Stavovského divadla se v obnovené premiéře vrací Kafka: Proces v choreografii Maura Bigonzettiho.

Příběh Josefa K., který je zatčen, aniž by znal důvod obžaloby, a vtažen do hry tribunálu, ze které se nedokáže vymanit. Ve zneklidňující atmosféře střídání tmy a světla tanečníci zhmotňují tíživou noční můru člověka ničeného předpisy, kterým nerozumí, a pravidly, proti nimž se nemůže vzbouřit.

この度、とても光栄なことに「バレエ・アステラス2026」に出演させていただきました。

まずは、この素晴らしい舞台を創り上げてくださったスタッフの皆様、先生方、そして今回パートナーとして一緒に踊ってくれたGeorgeに、心から感謝申し上げます。

世界各地で活躍されている素晴らしいダンサーの皆様と一緒に舞台を創り上げることができたことは、私にとって本当に幸せで、かけがえのない経験となりました。

この1週間、たくさんの刺激と学び、そして素敵な出会いをありがとうございました。
皆様からいただいたインスピレーションをこれからの自分の踊りに繋げ、また一歩ずつ成長していけるよう頑張っていきたいと思います。

そして、会場に足を運んでくださった皆様、応援してくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございました🙇‍♀️🤍

この経験を胸に、より一層頑張っていきたいと思います！

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who supported me and made this experience so special.

And a very special thank you to George, who shared the stage with me this time.
Around this time last year, we were talking about how wonderful it would be if we could one day dance together in Japan. I’m so incredibly happy that we were able to make that dream a reality. It’s something I can hardly put into words.

Of course, I’ve lost count of how many times we argued during rehearsals lol. But I think that’s also because we cared so much about every detail and wanted to create something that truly felt like ours. I’m so happy that we were able to share the result of all those rehearsals and all the things we put our hearts into with the Japanese audience.

This experience has given me so much inspiration and motivation, and I hope to take everything I learned from it with me and keep growing.

Grateful for everything🤍
