30 marathons. 30 days.
Back in 2018, @mjd_smith ran 30 marathons in 30 days for the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Eight years on, he sits down with coach @steph.running to reflect on what the experience taught him.

I love running on a track, I tried to make this text all cool and be on trend with well.. trends, but all input couldn't quite get the point, because we are in fact humans.

Running on a track, pushing hard on a track, being with people who are with you and also pushing you, sitting before chatting shit before, trying to chat shit in the recovery, finishing with this real statement of where you are.

Nothing can embody that, it's simple, you turn up, you are open to it, you feel that buzz at the end.

If you are a runner, and you have a track near you, and you know people run on that track on a certain day. DO IT.

The test is looking back over the last week, where did old habits take over vs the new way you wanted to train?

If old habits keep winning, you’re not coachable, you’re just agreeable.

LOBUCHE EAST | 6,119M — SUMMIT SUCCESS!

Some mountains are worth the wait. And this one meant a little more to me.

It’s been quite a year, with a lot going on and fewer opportunities to climb than I’d hoped. With the recent avalanches and unpredictable conditions in the Himalayas, there was uncertainty leading up to this expedition. A reminder that nature is always in charge.

And Lobuche East certainly made us work for it! Snow all the way from High Camp to the summit, steep snow and ice, fixed ropes, crampons and jumars. Every step took focus, patience and determination.

Standing at 6,119m felt incredibly special. Not just because I’d finally made it back to a big climb, but because of everything it took to get there. And to share that moment with our Climb Your Mountain team on our very first high-altitude technical expedition made it even more meaningful. Everyone had their own challenges, but we pushed through together. Couldn’t be prouder of this team!

I’ve been asked a lot this year why I keep going back to the mountains. There’s something about them that brings out a fire in me, a zest for life. I love the discipline, the early mornings, the consistency of showing up for myself and the simplicity of it all. It’s where I find perspective and feel most alive.

Thank you, Rob @re_foster for always making me mountain strong and making sure the hard work is done long before the climb. And to the people who understand this passion and always have my back, I’m so grateful.

More than just a summit, this was a reminder of why I love what I do.

Lobuche East, you were worth the wait. One for the books! 🏔️

The numbers are a snapshot. A moment shaped by a thousand things we can and have controlled, and thousands that we can't. The person behind it, is the difference.

It's actually an incredible opportunity to zoom out, because averages are hard to ignore.

@jmperformance_coach has had a journey. With a hip deformity, a lot of things were perceived as impossible. Yet he still took on endurance sport and, with another great coach, completed @challengeroth.

Since then, and after his hip operation, he's continued to push, but now he's been able to push further.

Power has increased. Our focus on base and anaerobic efficiency has been purposeful. But this can only happen if the sessions and preparations are made.

Priorities are set and, more importantly, when motivation is low, the session still gets done.

Because the body is still ready for it.

This journey is class and when you're allinged, is even better.

Figure out what works best for you and go balls deep!

To have @clarkey_jw as a partner in @innerfight & @tomwalkerfitness as a partner in @if_endurance is the most epic formula to make more people better at life.

Neither of us care much for long pants or boardrooms, from time to time we use cutlery and we constantly show up with honesty, simplicity, fun, hard work, mental toughness and an attitude to smash life.

36 hours of some of the most pure conversations I have had in my life. Absolutely next level. Even got given cold water by the police during our walk!!

Proud of our beginnings. Proud of change.

Our community was, and still is, super strong in Dubai. These are our roots. Things have evolved, as things do, but stepping back in to check on the athletes and friends in this community feels a little like coming home. The standard are the standards and we each play to them.

Unreal. 🙌

Dubai, the UK, Aus, NZ or online, the door's always open. 👊

Run hills and run like you stole it.

About 12 years since my last Harrier League cross-country. The expression on my face hasn’t changed, nor has how epic this institution is.

That’s the Harrier League: a 12-year-old lining up for the first time, a vet chasing their hundredth, and everyone in between giving it everything.

I wore the colours of @tynedaleharriers, who I’ve been training with at track and loving it. I ran with everything I had, wasted a lot of energy thanking the marshals and just had the best time.

Cross-country is hard. It has elevation, it makes you think about where you put your feet, and you have to run through mud. Strength and power are built here, and it has and will to continue to create some of the best runners in the world!

Somethings don't change and that's not a bad thing.
