@toilet_interior_febreze

The Art of Staying In. What does the perfect Sunday at home look like? From a quiet Japanese house shaped around empty space to an Australian retreat immersed in the landscape, a Mexican residence open to nature, a refined Paris apartment and a coastal home in South Africa — these five real homes explore a quieter approach to contemporary living. Architecture designed not simply to be seen, but to be lived slowly. Five homes. Five countries. Five ways of slowing down. #SundayMood #ResidentialArchitecture #InteriorDesign #SlowLiving #ContemporaryArchitecture The luxury of empty space. House of Emptiness by @igaarchitects in Naka, Japan, explores what happens when architecture leaves room for life rather than attempting to define every moment of it. At its centre, an intentionally open space becomes a flexible core connecting everyday life with the surrounding rural landscape. Wood, natural light and long views create an architecture of remarkable calm. @igaarchitects #JapaneseArchitecture #IGArchitects #HouseDesign #ResidentialArchitecture #SlowLiving Designed to belong to the landscape. Pomona House by @hive_architecture sits within the landscape of Pomona, Australia, creating a close relationship between architecture, interiors and nature. Raw materials, open living spaces and expansive views give the house a sense of stillness — an interior designed around the landscape rather than separated from it. @hive_architecture #AustralianArchitecture #PomonaHouse #ResidentialDesign #InteriorArchitecture #SlowLiving Living with nature. Casa Pura Vida by @zozaya_arquitectos in Troncones, Mexico, brings contemporary architecture together with local materials and Mexican craftsmanship. A central courtyard connects the living spaces while tropical vegetation, natural materials and open architecture create a constant dialogue between the house and its surroundings. @zozaya_arquitectos #MexicanArchitecture #CasaPuraVida #ContemporaryArchitecture #LuxuryInteriors #ResidentialDesign Slow living, in the heart of the city. Enfants Rouges Apartment by @carre.studio proves that a sense of calm doesn’t require escaping urban life. Tucked away in a quiet Tokyo neighborhood, “Building Frame of the House” is a striking 59sqm (635sqft) concrete home designed by @igaarchitects of IGArchitects for himself and his wife — doubling as his personal studio. Stacked across seven skip floors, the compact structure uses split levels, expansive windows, and open sightlines to create a sense of spaciousness and flow. Each level has a distinct function: a cozy office filled with books and greenery on the ground floor, a sleek 3.3-meter stainless steel kitchen nestled between floors, and a flexible living-dining area that opens into a lush, west-facing bedroom. Clever design details — like a soaring 6-meter bookshelf and stairs that double as seating, storage, and shelving — add to the home’s thoughtful efficiency. #japanhometours #smallhouse #japan #japanesehouse

This project is a final home set within a rural landscape. The architects sought to create an architecture with a core that receives change while sustaining the strength of the space, and conceived an arrangement with an empty space at its center. I visited Masato Igarashi’s house. Although it’s a small house built on a small lot, it feels very spacious once you step inside. The design—which features staggered floors with planks arranged in parallel as if floating—creates that sense of openness. 　What struck me anew upon visiting was just how clean and uncluttered the space feels without handrails. While handrails are typically installed on steps for safety reasons, the Building Standards Act actually contains no regulations regarding indoor handrails—so it’s perfectly fine to omit them, even in a private home. After all, once you step outside, you’ll find countless examples of this in nature. It really made me realize once again just how much clearer the structure becomes without handrails. 　Including the bathroom and kitchen, we inevitably tend to prioritize “ease of use” and “minimizing potential problems” in our designs year after year. While those aspects are important in themselves, this experience reminded me of the design sensibilities I had when I was a bit younger. MDS has newly established Yatsugatake Atelier in Hara-mura, Suwa-gun, Nagano. The project is located on an irregularly shaped site. Taking the introduction of multiple orientations in response to the site as a point of departure, the architects sought to create a buffer-like realm between the city and everyday life. What if the walls inside your small apartment are getting in the way? We tend to think that every kind of living we do needs its own dedicated space. But that kind of rigid thinking can break a small apartment. Inside this Tokyo home, there are no internal walls, just platforms that rise and fall through one continuous space, creating flexible places for different kinds of living. Work here in the morning… Eat somewhere else at night… Read in the sun, wherever it’s falling… Perhaps flexibility isn’t about squeezing more functions into a small home. Maybe it’s about dispensing with rules and conventions about where everything has to happen. Would you trade your walls for more freedom? The full story in Issue 3 of Never Too Small Magazine (long sold out in print) is now available with our new digital subscription. Link in bio. This project occupies a single floor within a commercial tenant building. Seeking to gently interconnect the various functions without dividing them into a conventional relationship of front-of-house and back-of-house, the architects conceived a space composed of a single continuous wall. The plaster finish reinforces the wall’s continuity while also bringing out a rich interplay of light and shadow across its surfaces. ・ more photos: link in bio ・ other projects @architecturephotonet ・ contact to architect (Please mention that you saw architecturephoto) @igaarchitects ・ #architecturephotography #archiphoto #archisite #architecturelife #architecture #arquitectura #inspiringarchitecture #amazingarchitecture #archilovers #architecturelovers #archilove #建築 #建築写真 #建築家 #建築士 #arsitektur #interior #interiordesign #japanesearchitecture #デザイナーズ #写真 #photographer #デザイン #内装デザイン #店舗デザイン #事務所デザイン
