Thrilled to announce that IGNACIO GATICA «Sanhattan» (2025) is now part of the permanent collection of the @whitneymuseum. The work premiered at the Whitney Biennial 2026, curated by Marcela Guerrero and Drew Sawyer. It looks at Sanhattan, Santiago's financial district, built in the image of Manhattan in the wake of the dictatorship as a monument to the free-market model the Chicago Boys brought home. Cityscapes, dreamlike narration and expert interviews trace how one city simulates, shadows and resists its namesake. Sanhattan, 2025

Ignacio Gatica Sanhattan (2025) ahora forma parte de la colección permanente del @whitneymuseum. La obra se presentó por primera vez en la Bienal del Whitney 2026, curada por marcelacguerrero y @drewmsawyer. Sanhattan es el nombre con que se conoce al distrito financiero de Santiago, construido a imagen de Manhattan tras la dictadura como monumento al modelo de libre mercado impulsado por los Chicago Boys. A través de paisajes urbanos, una narración onírica y entrevistas a expertos, la obra recorre cómo una ciudad simula, persigue y resiste a su homónima. “Sentient Earth”, Group Exhibition, Bushwick, New York City, “Sentient Earth brings together works by twenty-eight international artists contending with the ways extractive technologies shape lived environments and shifting perceptions of the planet. Responding to historical trajectories of mining, these narratives extend into the political and ecological imperatives of today’s financial and algorithmic systems. Across Amant’s campus, over sixty artworks span geographies and a multiplicity of media, including kinetic sculpture, anamorphic painting, documentary film, and live data mapping. These artists explore the planetary scale of transformations enacted by today’s accelerating demand for resource extraction. The exhibition draws attention to Earth’s physical properties and the data and knowledge buried under its surface. The ground beneath our feet is endowed with a projected sentience: minerals are inscribed with spiritual, technological, and economic agency. Layers of sediment, living organisms, and industrial debris have become indispensable resources for the intelligent infrastructures that power contemporary life. Save the date! So excited to share the upcoming group exhibition at @amant.arts opening on Thursday, September 17 📡 ・・・ Sentient Earth opens September 17, 2026, 6–9 pm. Save the date for the opening of Sentient Earth, our upcoming exhibition which brings together works by 28 international artists contending with the ways extractive technologies shape lived environments and shifting perceptions of the planet. Installed across Amant’s 932 Grand, 315 Maujer and Géza galleries, the exhibition traces a path from histories of mineral mining to the ecological imperatives of today’s financial and algorithmic systems. Sentient Earth is accompanied by a public program of symposia, screenings, and sound performances. Ignacio Gatica · Bienal Whitney 2026 La Galería Patricia Ready celebra la participación de Ignacio Gatica en la Bienal de Whitney 2026, la 82.ª edición del panorama de arte estadounidense de mayor trayectoria, realizada desde 1932, con curaduría de Marcela Guerrero y Drew Sawyer. El artista presenta Sanhattan (2025), instalación de video monocanal, color y sonido, de 18 minutos y 57 segundos, con banda sonora original de Nicolás Carcavilla. La obra toma como objeto el distrito financiero de Santiago de Chile, apodado «Sanhattan», cuyos rascacielos —levantados tras la dictadura como escenografía del libre mercado— citan directamente los íconos arquitectónicos de Manhattan. La instalación combina vistas urbanas, una narración onírica y entrevistas a especialistas para explorar los modos en que Sanhattan simula, ensombrece, anticipa y resiste a la ciudad que le da nombre.
