Hello we, Sandra De Loera (left) and Erendira Valencia (right), are the founders of the upcoming Latina Sister organization at Oklahoma City Community College. This union of Latina women is made for acceptance, knowledge, and the creation of a sisterhood that embraces our cultural background, experiences, and roots. Our philanthropy is focusing on women's health, education, diversity, and community involvement. Based on our first-generation, low-income, Latina background, we want to provide support in guiding our Latina sisters to experience a collective/sorority opportunity, similar to Universities in the state, while motivating them to conquer post-secondary opportunities. We want our Latinas to feel valued, proud, and empowered when it comes to attending a community college, more significantly, OCCC.
