Gratitude

Mid-way thoughts. The task of presenting three huge performances at a non-theatrical venue within two weeks is not exactly a walk in the park.

I wish to express my sincere thanks to everyone involved.

Firstly, the artistic teams creating these beautiful pieces with Kirsten and Hotel Pro Forma. Thanks for your dedication to working as a collaborative, for the respect towards each other and the visions for each piece, for striving for perfection, for the care for Kirsten and her sharp eye for every conceivable and unimaginable artistic idea.

Thank you to the board of Hotel Pro Forma for supporting me in carrying out this risky endeavour.

Thanks to our sublime casts for the shows: Blixa Bargeld, IKI consisting of Johanna Sulkunen, Kamilla Kovacs, Randi Pontoppidan, Guro Tveitnes and Jullie Hjetland, Latvian Radio Choir, Lisbeth Sonne, Baiba Renerte, and Kaspars Putnins - thanks all for your devotion.

Thanks Marie for listening, supporting me, learning new material, and for always insisting that we hit the mark with whatever we do.

Thanks to our magnificent crew members. Guys, what can I say. You lift our work to the skies: Ugis Ezerietis, Kristian Hverring, Girts Zvirbulis, John Fomsgaard, David Elberling, Anna Borzak, Oskars Plataiskalns aka Oso Gruñón, and Janis. Mr. Janis Linins. Thanks Janis for putting up with me, for allowing me to even think that this idea was worth fighting for, for making this crazy barn circus possible at all, and for taking us to where we are now - and beyond.

And thank you Kirsten for putting us together and making us create all this in the first place.

My humble bows
Lisbeth

On stage for Flammenwerfer, we proudly present the world-renowned German composer, musician Blixa Bargeld and the award-winning vocal ensemble IKI. Blixa is founder and lead vocalist in Einstürzende Neubauten, previously part of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, among other collaborations and solo performances. IKI consists - for the Flammenwerfer appearance - of Kamilla Kovacs, Randi Pontoppidan, Johanna Sulkunen, Guro Tveitnes, and Jullie Hjetland.

The music is composed by Blixa Bargeld and Nils Frahm. Bargeld has created new compositions and lyrics exclusively for the performance. Hotel Pro Forma and Nils Frahm have collaboratively chosen compositions from his previous works for FLAMMENWERFER. Director Marie Dahl’s texts and vocal compositions are sung layered over Nils Frahm's music by IKI. The music by Bargeld and Frahm is performed separately. Sound design by Erik Medeiros.

Flammenwerfer is presented on May 2-4 at Den Grå Hal, Copenhagen, as part of Hotel Pro Forma Live.
