Made it back to NY in time to see these two love birds tie the knot. As friendships and families grow I expect this list item to live on and that's a beautiful thing.

Fun Fact: When the DJ drops "Danza Kuduro" by @donomar and "Give Me Everything" by @pitbull the hometown crew knows what to do. We'll see you on the dance floor.

Memorable Moment: The maid of honor and best men speeches👌🏽, but also seeing my extended family all in one place again. Although some folks are missing, there's nothing I wouldn't do for this crew and thier kids. That's a promise.

On Saturday 18th April I attended the second instalment of 'Speak Your Peace' presented by iLikeZach and Stafford Space Station with awesome words by Spoken word artists including Zach Cabey, Nicky Barron, Leena Batchelor, Scribe, Jon Watkiss and songs by Katy Cunnion. Zach kindly read a sequence of haiku I had written - as I was uncharacteristically quiet due to a poorly throat.

The third instalment of 'Speak Your Peace' is on Saturday 25th April from 8pm - 9pm. The Zoom link is available on the event page.

Speak Your Peace is 'a 5-week global expressive art series based entirely online - presented by iLikeZach in partnership with The Stafford Space Station'. Zach's vision for the series is for it to 'be both an artistic and therapeutic creative exercise'. It was a great experience for me to connect with poets both in other areas of the UK, and across the Atlantic in the USA too.

I enjoyed hearing poetry by Emily Rose, Jon Watkiss' rant 'Tin', and Daniel Kay's emotive poem about his chair football friend and team mate, Lisa Johnston's beautiful piece 'Porcelain Butterflies', and Leena Batchelor's 'Weather the Storm'. Katy Cunnion shared both poetry and song, and as well as hosting the event, Zach Cabey shared a powerful piece 'Under the Manhatten Bridge.' Diana Ballesteros shared a thought provoking poem 'Apocalyptic Rituals'. I enjoyed Lydia Villaronga's 'Platonic Love Poem' and it was fabulous to hear 'Earth Poem' by Terra and a song from Scribe.

This is the first international event I've attended and I am hoping to attend many more.
