Today we launched The Summer Solstice Fund, a $100,000 campaign to build on our advocacy. We’re restoring the Guns Down Mechanicsville mural & adding interactive storytelling augmented reality so you can hear directly from our neighbors in 3D and in their own words. Free and permanent, year-round. The AR experience launches at Summer Solstice on Saturday, June 19, 2027! “When federal support for violence prevention gets cut, communities can’t wait. My neighbors and I shaped this mural, and now we’ll speak through it.” — DeMicha Luster. We need your help! Help us raise the remaining $77,500. Donations are tax deductible. 🔗 Link in bio to learn more and donate. #GunsDownMechanicsville #SummerSolsticeFund #TheUrbanAdvocate #Mechanicsville #RealAtlanta

The Georgia Men For Democracy Now Political Action Committee doesn't just help individuals get elected to public office. That is only one of the many roles we play as a PAC. We also fight to preserve and defend our democracy. It is no accident that the word "Democracy" is part of our name. That commitment includes standing against laws that we believe are unjust. Today, several members of our PAC stood in solidarity with our metro Atlanta Sister District Attorneys (DA Fani Willis, DA Sherry Boston, DA Sonya F. Allen and DA Tasha Mosley) at a 12:00 PM press conference to support their challenge to HB 369. This new law makes District Attorney and certain other local races nonpartisan only in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties. Georgia has 159 counties. However, lawmakers singled out the five counties with some of the largest Black voting populations in the state. Our PAC was honored to work with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over the past two weeks as we offered our support to our Sister District Attorneys leading today's press conference. As DA Willis has stated, she believes this law is both unconstitutional and immoral. We will continue to stand with our Sister District Attorneys as this legal challenge moves through the courts. HB 369 disproportionately affects Black female District Attorneys and raises serious concerns about fairness and equal treatment under the law. Republicans have never been comfortable with a Black person being the chief law enforcement over them. Hence the United States has only had one Black Attorney, General Eric Holder who was appointed by President Barack Obama. Georgia has only had one Black Attorney, General Thurbert Baker who was appointed by Governor Zell Miller and later won successive elections when Georgia was a true blue. Georgia Men For Democracy Now Political Action Committee will continue to advocate for what we believe are fair, equitable, and constitutional election laws for all Georgians. We will fight against any and all laws that try to "Re-Jim Crow" Atlanta in particular and Georgia as a whole! #GeorgiaMenForDemocracyNow #Democracy #VotingRights #GeorgiaPolitics #HB369

The Georgia Men For Democracy Now Political Action Committee stands with our five "sister" District Attorneys in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett Counties. Let's be clear, HB 369 is an attempt to "Re-Jim Crow" metropolitan Atlanta. Georgia has 159 counties and you single out the five with the the largest Black voting block in the Southeastern United States‼️
