This very moment, when @ebottcher and @marklevinenyc gave me the Proclamation was like living a dream. How could a transgender woman fleeing years of persecution in Egypt and landing in NYC, having left everything and everybody behind, could imagine that the President of Manhattan Borough and the 3rd district council man would gave her such an honor. ✨🏳️‍🌈❤️🏳️‍⚧️💜

Huge shoutout to my friend, the very talented @dhernandezmusic for inviting me and @jean_manuel_le_caire on stage last night during his amazing performance.

Thank you for using your platform to raise awareness about @transasylias and inspire support from your audience to the work we do benefiting trans asylum seekers.
Your support means the world to me, David!!
❤️❤️💜💜

We brought 8 trans women and 1 trans man to safety in European countries and Canada.
We urgently need support for dozens of trans siblings who live in very dangerous countries and requested our help.

Go to TransAsylias.org and donate and/or apply to become a volunteer.

Love from Iman

🦄🦄QLN Welcomes Iman Le Caire CEO & Founder of Trans Asylias, activist, advocate, artist, & angel. "Iman was born Ayman Kassem in Cairo, Egypt. She was enjoying a career as a contemporary dancer at the Cairo Opera House as a choreographer when she had to flee Egypt to avoid persecution."She moved to the US in 2008 where she was granted political asylum & married in 2014 to her husband Jèan Le Caire.

Iman shares her personal story about how the pandemic forced her to address her PTSD in way that she hadn't before. Iman said through therapy she was able to harness her own traumatic experience into a source of empowerment to help save the lives of other trans people faced with persecution, violence, and trauma globally.

TRANS ASYLIAS is a non-profit organization created in 2021 and registered in the state of New York with the purpose to help transgender women and men escape from their home countries where they face persecution and resettle in trans-friendly countries.

Issue 011 of Service95 introduces you to four female activists whose stories will make you think and will leave you inspired. Meet @trans_asylias founder @imanlecaire whose own experience of violence, persecution and arrests in her native Egypt prompted her to help trans asylum seekers around the world find a place of safety; Ukranian activist Daria Kaleniuk whose bold anti-corruption campaigning actively contributed to the democratisation of her country; @theblackcurriculum’s Lavinya Stennett who is transforming the British educational system to ensure that every school child learns about Black British history and @nadia_murad who has channelled her trauma to fight for survivors of sexual violence across the globe.

I am so happy to join my sisters @themilajam and @qween_jean for a conversation about what Trans visibility means these days.

OutSPOKEN with Mila Jam for @outleadership on March 29th 12pm ET

I am grateful to Mila for giving me the opportunity to explain why visibility for transgender people who live in transphobic dangerous countries has a different meaning than for the ones living in North America and Europe.
