Dragon is an annual pilgrimage. A place to return to, reflect, reconnect and notice the pieces of ourselves that have quietly grown since the last time.

Sometimes we need somewhere to put everything we've been carrying. Grief, change, uncertainty, joy, exhaustion, love, all the things we've outgrown and all the things we're still becoming. Sometimes it takes open sky, loud music, movement and the arms of people who know you to shake some of it loose.

Each year we arrive a little different. We shed old versions of ourselves, recognise our people more deeply, and somehow find space for new ones who feel like they were always meant to be there.
There are the friendships that are still becoming, and the ones that have weathered years - grounding, unwavering, never failing to remind you what home in other people feels like.

Maybe catharsis isn't letting go. Maybe it's letting grief, joy, love and loss move through you, and finding yourself on the other side a little changed, a little closer, and still open. Still loved and still loving.

Honestly can't wait for this one - back at Subsonic this November with the Newy Bass Crew taking over the River Stage, and I get to go b2b with my brother from another mother, Kaizen OG. 🔊🖤

Three B2Bs from the crew:
💥 Whompus b2b Floor Twenty
💥 KreliaS b2b IMPRV
💥 Dread Maiden b2b Kaizen OG

Subsonic has meant a lot to us over the years - underground music, creativity, community and a few days disappearing into that little pocket of Worimi Country by the river. It feels pretty bloody special to be invited back to bring some NBC business to the River Stage again. Big love to @scottcommens for having us. 🙏

🗓️ 13-15 November 2026
📍 Riverwood Downs - Worimi Country

Keen as hell to get back down by the river and rip in. 🖤🔊

Pretty bloody stoked to say Newy Bass Crew is heading back to @subsonicmusic in November. 🔊

We'll be repping on the River Stage, with three B2Bs from the crew:

💥 Whompus (@whompuswubs b2b Floor Twenty (@floortwenty.music
💥 KreliaS (@krelias.music b2b IMPRV (@imprv___)
💥 Dread Maiden (@dreadmaiden.audio) b2b Kaizen OG (@kaizen_og_kush)

Subsonic has always meant a fair bit to us. For some of the crew, it was one of the places we first found some real solace within the Australian festival scene - a space that felt a little different. Underground music given room to breathe, creativity without too many rules, and a community of people who were there for more than just a big night out.

There's something pretty special about disappearing into that pocket of Worimi Country for a few days, surrounded by bush, river, art, strange sounds and good humans. It's a festival that has spent years carving out its own lane, and we've got a lot of love for that, so being invited back to bring a bit of Newy Bass Crew business to the River Stage again is something we’re genuinely proud of.

Big love to @scottcommens for getting us involved again. 🙏

As always, we don't release set times.

Every artist on our lineup is there for a reason, and we want everyone to be given the same support - whether they're playing first, last or somewhere in between. The night is put together as a full musical journey, with each set building on the one before it.

Come early, stay late and experience the whole thing with us. We also know life happens, so if there's someone you really don't want to miss and you genuinely can't stay for the full night, flick us a message and we'll help you out.

Support the artists. Support the music. Support your local scene. 🖤

🎫 Tix available via the link in our bio and on the door. ❤️

Our boy, IMPRV (@imprv___), joins us for Big Thumping Bass Cannon TONIGHT at LVL ONE (@lvl1partyhouse).

Moving through the deeper reaches of drum & bass, IMPRV blends autonomic and IDM influences with halftime jungle, minimal, liquid and heavier DNB. His sets are dark, immersive and technical, balancing intricate selections with plenty of low-end pressure.

A familiar face across the NSW bass community, IMPRV has played Dragon Dreaming, Antigravity and Art Valley, alongside events from Elements of Tech and Bass (@the_elements_of_tech_and_bass), Breakneck (@breakneckdnb), HiveMind (@hivemindsydney), Afterlife (@afterlifednb), Rinse Out (@rinseoutcrew) and more. He's also supported a huge list of artists including Mefjus, Culture Shock, The Upbeats, State of Mind, Koven, Phibes, Ed Solo, Serial Killaz, Bensley, Screamarts and Akov.

Catch IMPRV behind the decks tonight! 🔊
