inseparable union of taste, talent and “telpa”

Served on OPIECE tableware, the 4 course meal by @inarsbirmanis for Bistro.jūra ir pārvērtēta, inspired a festive mood within the brutalist architecture of Bāze.

For the only public event Bāze hosts each year, @zaneteteresulce created dozens of new pieces, playing with colour, form, and shape. Spill plates now feature animal-shaped extensions instead of the signature cylinder hold , and a completely new product made its first appearance here - the little “shot” cup.

Bāze has a special tradition for sharing food. On August 1st at Bistro. Jūra ir pārvērtēta, our longtime friend, chef @inarsbirmanis , was the culinary mastermind that ensured all of our 150 guests had the chance to experience the joy of sharing a meal together. From juicy meat patties to the sweetest desserts, he delivered it all.

Our story with Inārs goes back to 2022, when Bāze held its very first festival, Fāze Vol.1. It was also the beginning of our first collaboration - a moment when Bāze was still taking shape as a place for experimentation, creativity and bringing people together. Food became part of that shared experience from the very beginning, and Inārs brought his own approach to the table: generous, playful and rooted in the joy of creating something for people to experience together.

Now, for the second year in a row, we are blessed to have Inārs as the creative force behind Bāze’s communal feast as part of the @majaskafejnicas movement.

Follow along to see the magic we experienced, created and shared together at Bistro 2026.

Last weekend the first pop-up restaurant at @place.baze welcomed over 130 visitors, delighting all with a curious interplay of space, cuisine, music, and community.
•
For three summers now, Bāze has been the playground for our creative ideas, all brought to life by the team through numerous weekend workshops. From Zane Tetere-Šulce’s hand-crafted porcelain dining set to the massive wooden structures, each element played its part in making this event truly unforgettable. The centerpiece and most celebrated work - an unconventionally shaped dining table, whose innovative form encouraged diverse interactions. The Blue Bird Tower served as a lunch station and later transformed to a play area for children, while the movable bedroom offered a versatile stage setting.
•
“Betons & Kartupelis”, the culinary pop-up amidst brutalist architecture, featured a five-course meal by Inārs Bīrmanis, followed by a classical-modern music epilogue from Ronja Rosta and Amēlija Āboltiņa, and closed with an open-air cinematic masterpiece. Described by many as the most unique and bizarre experience of summer 2025, the event was a true success.
