Dear Friends! We need YOUR help! Qosay's mother cannot afford to wait to have surgery to treat an infection in her spine. Please SHARE our emergency appeal for Qosay who needs to urgently raise $1500 USD by the end of the week! This very large sum cannot be raised unless we reach people OUTSIDE our community. WE NEED EVERYONE'S HELP!!!

It is critical Atab undergo this procedure as soon as possible to prevent sepsis, which is very hard to treat with a functioning health care system. If the infection in Atab's spine goes left untreated it could develop into more serious and potentially life-threatening complications. This is very, very serious, and very, very URGENT.

Please contribute whatever amount you are capable of sending directly to Qosay's campaign. Scan the QR code or visit our account page to find the URL for Qosay Hani.

*SIMPLE ACTIONS YOU CAN DO TO HELP!!!*

Day 20 of #peacetober2026 hosted by a wonderful community of mutual aid and solidarity @coffeesforgaza to help 25 families striving to survive in G🥄za
Please follow, share, comment, create, join and d🥄nat🥣
Winter is coming, humanitarian aid and food blocked from reaching Gza - people are hungry and lacking basic necessities - they need our help ❤️🫶🇵🇸

Today’s prompt : spoon

One of the main suppliers of food aid to the Gaza Strip, the World Food Programme (WFP) is being forced to “drastically reduce lifesaving assistance” to the Palestinian territory. The number of people helped by the UN agency will drop by about a third - from 1.6 million to 1.1 million.
The cuts will hit as winter approaches and at a time when many families in Gaza are still struggling to feed themselves. One effect is that the number of hot meals that are currently being provided by community kitchens will be cut from 250,000 to 150,000 each day.

#Peacetober2026 Prompt: Brave

It took a leap of faith and lots of courage to host #peacetoberbookstackchallenge because I am not the most active person online. Nor do I have lots of friends within the bookstagram community.

But the ones I do are all gems with the kindest souls and the most supportive energy. They inspire me to be braver and more confident when I share my ideas.

This has led to the #peacetoberbookstackchallenge as I wouldn't have had done one if @threadingbetweenthelines did not nudge me to do one and backed me by becoming a donor for this stack for a cause.

This October, Nichole and her friend @personanonfiction are donating $1 USD each for every bookstack shared till 31st October 2026.

Since we're halfway through the month, I thought I'd share a progress report.

📖 So how are we doing?

Alhumdillah we've raised $120 so far thanks to all the amazing stacks shared by all of YOU.

That means I got to see 60 spectacular stacks, each interpretating prompts in a unique way. I am truly grateful for everyone whose participated.

A special shoutout to readers who share a stack almost every day.

Can you still join in?

Absolutely!

All you have to do is:

1) Share a photo or create a graphic of a bookstack inspired by one (or more) peacetober prompts
2) Tag me (@thereadingquest) to help me keep track of the submission

Each post you make means USD 2 will go to Iyas's GFM.

Swipe to know how you can participate! 📚

P.S: Feel free to use prompts for any day to make a stack. We believe in thoughtful reflections over quantity. And if you have the means, please donate to Iyas's GFM campaign. We aim to support his family to honor his wishes. 🌻

Help support Hamza's education! Despite everything Hamza is determined to continue his studies and build his future. Hamza needs lots of help from people like you to raise urgent funds for a device to continue! Hamza needs a large sum to purchase essential equipment in order to do his schoolwork, and enough monthly support to afford his education fees in addition to the cost of his family's daily necessities. Hamza works very hard to maintain a top score in his class, and his last year of high school couldn't be more critical as he is studying for the Tawjihi examination, which will determine his university options and his future. Follow his journey @hamz._2009

Please SHARE his urgent education support appeal far and wide, COMMENT a full sentence, LIKE, SAVE, SHARE to your stories, and REPOST!

Please send Hamza whatever you are able to meet his immediate goals. He would be so grateful if you could pitch in the cost of a coffee to his family campaign monthly to help them meet their daily needs. Your support carries hope for families that continue to endure the hardships of survival.

Thank you to everyone who helps spread this appeal far and wide!

My friend Abdalhade's twin daughters, have been documenting the situation they have been living in for 3 years, in their artwork.

They lost their house long ago and have moved many times. Abdalhade and his wife Israa have been unable to get employment because the infrastructure is destroyed.

Can you help support this precious family by donating, even a small amount, once a month?
The link to Abdalhade's gofundme campaign is in his bio and also my bio. Or you can reach it via the QR code.

Thank You

#Peacetober2026 Day 16: Tent

Thought today's prompt will be the perfect day to share a story. A story of my friend @mona86_zahed who wrote Tabkha: Recipes from Under the Rubble during her multiple displacements. Mona wrote a most of this book in a tent and coordinated with the team through a mobile phone with low connectivity.

This cookbook features twenty of her ancestral recipes. Like a true foodie and chef, she had a challenging time, picking family favourites, so she winded up adding two more recipes in the second edition. So you get to have extra illustrations and some mouthwatering recipes at hand. 😋😋😋

The back cover features Mona and her family outside a tent they were forced to call home. Once Mona returned to her family residence after the so-called ceasefire she used a tent to start a learning space for neighborhood children.

That's how Mona is, she teaches us life every day!

.

.

.

The story I share is a simplified storybook version of someone who dares to dream. To a mum who wants to carve a better future for her four children. And a Falasteeni chef who wanted to preserve her ancestral knowledge and culinary traditions in a cookbook.

So that everyone around the world could remember the recipes and see her community beyond headlines.

But her friends have seen her struggle to cook the dishes she wrote about, to access basic essentials, her prayers to evacuate for the sake of her children and their future. As her global community we can continue to amplify her efforts and directly support her campaign(s).

More importantly, we owe her to buycott, divest and ask for sanctions. To speak up!

.

.

.

I am so grateful to @coffeesforgaza for introducing me to Tabkha when they first announced it in collaboration with radical publishing house @slingshotbooks.

Slingshot Books is hosting an online drawing workshop to raise funds for CFG next month lead by artists Sarah Dyer and Aliaa Betawi.

P.S: If you want to know more about the cookbook check out @tabkhabook! 💜

I share this today because Mona and my global community remind me the power of working in a collective to amplify stories that matter.
