Two eyes in the shadows, one beautiful story of the wild. 🦉🌿

Some moments in nature are best experienced in silence. At Bhigwan Wildlife Sanctuary, near Pune, I had the privilege of observing Mottled Owls, both individually and as a pair. Watching these beautiful nocturnal birds in their natural surroundings was a quiet reminder of how much wonder the wild holds for those willing to pause and observe.

A little about the Mottled Owl 🦉
The Mottled Owl (Strix ocellata) is a species of owl native to the Indian subcontinent. Recognisable by its intricate mottled plumage, expressive dark eyes and distinctive facial disc, it is primarily nocturnal and often rests quietly during the day. These owls feed mainly on small animals, including rodents and other prey, playing an important role in the natural balance of their habitat.

Every encounter is a privilege, and every frame is a small effort to appreciate and share the beauty of our wildlife. Photography is not just about capturing a subject; it is about respecting its space and preserving a moment without disturbing its world. 💚

A moment of balance, a stretch of freedom. 🖤🤎🪶

Nature has its own quiet ways of reminding us to slow down and appreciate the little things. This Black Francolin, caught mid-stretch on a bed of river stones, offers a beautiful glimpse into the everyday life of a wild bird. Its striking black plumage, intricate golden-brown markings, and vivid orange-red legs stand out against the soft green backdrop.

Sometimes, wildlife photography is not about dramatic action, but about being patient enough to notice the simplest moments that make nature extraordinary. 🌿📸

Wildlife has a beautiful way of reminding us that every moment in nature has a story of its own.

Today’s outing near Chandigarh gave me two very different yet equally fascinating glimpses into the lives of our birds.

The Cattle Egret provided some unforgettable hunting moments — patiently scanning its surroundings before suddenly springing into action. Those brief seconds of focus, instinct and movement are exactly the kind of moments that make the long hours of waiting worthwhile.

These are the moments I value most in wildlife photography — not simply because they can result in a good photograph, but because they allow us to pause and observe the personalities, instincts and interactions that make the natural world so remarkable.

There is always something to learn when we slow down and let nature take the lead. We are fortunate to witness these moments, and even more fortunate when we can document them without disturbing the wildlife we came to photograph.

Grateful to Mother Nature for another beautiful morning, another lesson in patience, and a few memories that I will carry with me for a long time. ❤️🌿
