For gracing us with your musical gifts - the music was transcendent ✨

Thank you DJ Big Tuna with @holylochhifi for making sure the sound was exquisite and the music divine and Claire for all the hard work you put in to setting up and breaking down. (They’d traveled from Scotland on the day - phenomenal effort!)

Thank you to everyone @eaststreetarts for for all your support in the lead up, promotion, and for hosting the night! 🙏🏽

A special mention to @harriett_rose_ and @pinky_weddings for being emotionally and financially supportive. @pinky_weddings for bossing the bar and @harriett_rose_ for rolling your sleeves up as the moon sank into the evening. It was invaluable 🥰

Finally thank you to the audience who made the night so beautiful. We went somewhere, didn’t we? You filled the space with your dreams ✨

If you enjoyed Thursday, you might want to check out the performance I’ve co-created with harpist and singer @georgie.buchanan.music of @ancientinfinityorchestra on the 21st September @theatticleeds. Beautiful, bright/dark, ethereal, folk-inspired songs and poetry as a headliner to the Folk Night with @wildmoonfolkleeds 🌙 🪉🧚‍♂️

Also performing are:

@heresthesteeplemusic
@herorangecoat
@harry_orme
@hevelwood
@kinaaraofficial

We’ll be posting about it very soon, but if you’re already interested, you can find tickets at the link in my bio 🔗

Thanks once again for an incredible night 🌕

More very soon,

Seki

11-14 September – East Street Arts Open Studios https://eaststreetarts.org.uk/event/open-studios/

Starting tomorrow Thursday 11 September - East Street Arts Open Studios, followed by Leeds Open Studios. Read about it in writer and independent curator Charu Vallabhbhai's FEATURE on the Foudrinier in our September issue:

"The open studios programme at East Street Arts commences a little earlier than the weekend of Leeds Open Studios with a launch event on Thursday 11 September when Leeds poet Seki Lynch will be performing an evening of poetry accompanied by the soulful jazz sounds of Ozzy Moysey, Hugh Vincent and Mick Bardon from the Ancient Infinity Orchestra...

"For those interested in hands-on opportunities, on Saturday 13 September Leeds Print Workshop opens its doors allowing access to try out print-making, with drop in letterpress and screen printing as well as the opportunity to book onto a day long workshop in woodcut relief printing. In the afternoon at Convention House artist Georgia Green is running a two-colour Riso workshop on which spaces can be booked.

"On both Saturday and Sunday of the weekend, studio holder Gabriella Ranito-Baltazar presents live action painting. Visitors will be encouraged to witness the studio techniques and methods used to create large scale paintings as they develop. On the final afternoon of East Street Arts Open Studios, Dr Frances-Ann Norton will be holding drop-in sessions in religious icon painting. Participants will be guided, step-by step, in traditional Byzantine methods and symbology, in a free workshop where all materials will be provided.

"Visit East Street Arts on Leeds Open Studios weekend to be transported into a hidden realm that has been created by artists."
