🏝️ Desert Island Stack 🏝️

Thank you to @fictionalbard for tagging me in this challenge! I have to say, I chose my five far too quickly! I wonder if my inner pirate is itching to weigh anchor and put wind into my sails 😅

So, why did I pick these five? Call it familiarity, call it formidability, but either way, that five books are the heavy weights of my bookshelf, and they pack an emotional punch!

🏴‍☠️The Devils by Joe Abercrombie - This was the first Abercrombie book I read, and it had my chuckling like I’d lost my mind! The perfect scapegoat for a crazed pirate marooned on an island, I’d say!

⚔️ Crossroads of Ravens by Andrezi Sapkowski - Despite my brief interaction with this prequel to the beloved Witcher books, I feel it’s a perfect standalone for a lonely sea goer!

⛈️ The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson - I’ve raved enough about this one, so I won’t bore you with the details of my love affair with the first book in the Stormlight Archive, but yes, I’d absolutely have this book on hand!

🧀 The Hobbit by Tolkien - I thought about LOTR, but there’s something comforting about this classic that I would just miss a little too much! I may not have a blanket on a desert island or cuddles from my wife and cat 😭 but an unexpected party with Bilbo Baggins, some dwarves and a wheel or two of cheese should get me through some sleepless nights!

⚡️Harry Potter and the Hapf-Blood Prince - now, I haven’t read this one for many years, but there was a time when it was all I ever read 🥲 It got me through some tough years so I’ll be bringing this one along too!

Hopefully I won’t be getting stranded on a desert island any time soon! But if I do, then at least I know which books I’ll be reading - while I talk to a volleyball about which books they’ve got on their tbr 😂

For those of you I’ve tagged, I hope you have fun with this one! Or, like me, panic at the thought of your next holiday and whether you’ve picked the right books!

🎃 Pumpkins and October book stack 👻

QotD: what spooky story or monster would you be most equipped to defeat?

I could defeat the dementors because I’m a redhead and have no soul so they can’t steal my soul. 👨‍🦰 I also have a powerful patronus charm because I’m full of happy juice 🥤 at least I am when I’m not down diggity in the dirt depressed. 😔

Thank you @philbert.readsandstuff for the tag! Now go check out Phil’s bookstagram and pumpkins unless you want me to haunt you!

Oathbringer
Cello’s Gate
Tress of the Emeralr Sea
Origin of the Wolf
Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Every Hidden Thing
Red Rising

If I tag you in this, you better make an October stack or I will drop a giant pumpkin on your head and turn you into a Christmas ghost of the past.
