Digital human performance for the Augury, composited on the live action performance of @rasamuel_ , done with @impersonas

The Augury is an intelligent plant species communicating with humans by taking shapes and forms familiar to them. Its different forms are holographically projected on top of each other.

I was super excited to design what this complex entity looks like.

Uro Publications is proud to announce the release of Parallax: Architectural Visualisation Now—a richly illustrated survey of 14 world-leading visualisation practices by Paul Loh and Andrei Dolnikov.

The days when architectural propositions were represented solely by hand drawings are long gone. Over the past century, the way we represent architecture has evolved from hand-drawing to computer-aided drafting, to building information modelling, and now to AI-driven image generation and worldbuilding. But perhaps the most significant change of all has come not with the tools we use to make architectural images, but in the role that they play: architectural visualisation is now the primary medium through which we imagine our cities, their values and their potential. In the argument for the future, it is our lingua franca.

In Parallax, authors Andrei Dolnikov and Paul Loh interview 14 global leaders in architectural visualisation to determine the state of the art. Drawing on decades of teaching and practice, their discussions explore how architectural visualisation shapes the conversation around our cities, enabling broader public engagement while blurring disciplinary boundaries across architecture, technology, film, digital art, and experiential design. They reveal how expert practitioners craft and deploy their visualisations for maximum effect, how they situate their work within its social and cultural context, and where they believe their future lies in the wake of AI’s burgeoning power.

Featured practices: Beauty and The Bit, BINYAN, Factory Fifteen, Gabriel Saunders, HISM, Inferstudio, HUSH, Liam Young, Luxigon, MILINSKI, Pico Velásquez, Pureblink, Space Popular, Xcessive Aesthetics

There’s something irreplaceable about being in the same room as the people pushing this industry forward.

Last week, a few of us from Neoscape had the privilege of presenting at World Viz Festival (@WorldVizFest) in Warsaw. We heard incredible presentations, traded stories about clients and craft, and were reminded of why this work matters.

Particular highlights included the work of @Gabriel_Saunders, Andrei Dolnikov (@BinyanStudios) discussing his forthcoming book Parallax, and the panel on business and dealmaking hosted by Alina Godunova at @CuubStudio.

We were also inspired by the work and conversations from @KunKunVisual, @InferStudio, @RecomFarmhouse, @TheScope.Studio and so many others in the room.

And a huge congratulations to all the winners of the 2026 CGconnect 3D Awards – the imagery, animation, and interactive work on display, from students and professionals alike, was extraordinary.

Oh — and Warsaw knows how to feed you. 🥟🇵🇱

Thank you to everyone who made WVF such a meaningful experience.
See you next time.

OcéanoFuturismos, created by Inferstudio in collaboration with TBA21–Academy and Radical Ocean Futures, has received an Honorary Mention at the S+T+ARTS Prize 2026 by Ars Electronica.

This project rehearses questions for the future of ocean policy and governance through speculative scenario-making and worldbuilding, and was premiered during the UN Oceans Conference in Nice 2025 as part of a science fiction prototyping workshop organised by TBA21.

Congratulations to Inferstudio, Radical Ocean Futures, and everyone involved in this recognition!

We are very happy to host Prototype Worlds, a talk from Bethany Edgoose and Nathan Su, co-founders of Inferstudio

The talk will take place at our Cinematic and Videogame Architecture Studio, UCL East Marshgate, this Friday, 22 May, starting at 17:30.

PROTOTYPE WORLDS
In Prototype Worlds, we will peek behind the curtain at Inferstudio’s worldbuilding process. We share stories on how we created the fantastical environments and characters of ‘Daughter of the Inner Stars’ - a 50 minute original animation accompanying a live orchestral performance. We will explore how critical fiction can facilitate inter-disciplinary collaboration and inspire urgent value shifts through a deep dive into ‘Ocean Futurisms’ - a series of speculative films presented at the 2025 UN Ocean’s Conference. The lecture will also offer a window into some works from our investigative portfolio, looking into how we visualise complex datasets in both artistic and research contexts.

BIO: Inferstudio is a digital worldbuilding and investigative design studio. We create immersive films and images that imagine fictional futures; both aspirational and cautionary. We also develop digital visualisations that interpret and communicate complex environmental realities from our world today. Our projects converge around themes of ecology, land/ocean-scapes, and extended reality.
Inferstudio is directed by Bethany Edgoose and Nathan Su. Bethany is an editor, writer, and researcher with a background in anthropology and international studies. Before Inferstudio, she worked as a cyber-security analyst and a nuclear security researcher. Nathan is a designer, technologist, and researcher with a background in architecture. He has worked as an advanced researcher for Forensic Architecture, and has taught in architecture schools internationally, including at UCLA, the Architectural Association (AA), and Strelka Institute. They currently teach Architecture Design Studio 13 together at the Royal College of Art (London) within the MA Architecture programme.

Daughter of the Inner Stars is a 50 minute symphonic orchestral experience blending live narration, original animation, and an original cinematic score by Australian composer Nicholas Buc. Created for children and families, the fantastical environments of this saga form the backdrop for thematic explorations of folklore, animism, grief, and kin. This video is a behind the scenes look at the making of the ambitious 50-minute animation accompanying the show. We explore how we used @unrealengine for worldbuilding and Metahuman / Flow Studio for animation.
