Thank you, Ha Giang. For the roads, the people, and everything in between.

An experience everyone should have at least once.

Reminiscing about the trips biggest highlight so far. Ha Giang Loop memories will live rent free in our minds for yeats to come.

✅️ Bring enough cash:
Whilst meals are provided, drinks are not. You will have to pay cash for all beers, coffees, etc. Tipping your guide at the end is also a must. These guys are professionals at making sure you are kept safe and have the time of your life. A tip is a small gesture to show your appreciation.

✅️ Pack strategically:
You are only allowed one small bag on the back of the bike. There are no porters to lug your cases from homestay to homestay. Bring only the essentials.

✅️ Stress less:
You will be given safety gear that you MUST wear each time you're on the bike. You are only ever on the bike for a maximum of an hour before the next stop & total ride time each day is around 3 hours.

✅️ Research your tour group:
Or just book with Infinity Ha Giang. Can't recommend them highly enough, and after seeing numerous other tour groups on the Loop, picking a company that ensures small groups makes the experience that much better.

✅️ Just book it:
One of the best travel experiences of our lives. Only regret is that it is over.

❌️ Expect the weather to always play nice:
Ha Giang is highly mountainous, making the weather very unpredictable. However, you enjoy every minute, no matter the weather.

❌️ Drink too much alcohol:
Fancy waking up at 7am & sitting on a motorbike for 3 hours whilst hungover? Us either!

❌️ Always think you will be comfortable:
Your arse WILL get sore. As will your knees. And your hips. If it is wet, it gets worse. But, did we ever care? No! We were on the Ha Giang Loop! Your pain is as temporary as your trip, so just learn to love it.

❌️ Expect Michelin quality food:
Think very simple Asian dishes that have to be cooked for the masses. The meals repeat. However, it was always tasty, and prepared fresh.

❌️ Think the roads are quiet:
During peak season 1,000 people start the Ha Giang Loop every day. Add normal road traffic to that, and it can get pretty busy. The upside to this is that slowing down gives you more time to enjoy the spectacular views!

Ha Giang Loop - Vietnam 🇻🇳

Day Nineteen.

The last day of the Loop - the bitter-sweet final moments of what has been the best experience we've had in our lives.

With a smaller group, we were afforded a later breakfast to allow us all a little more rest after what was a tiring three days prior (in the best way possible). The choices at family breakfast today were soup with noodles or pancakes...no surprises as they were our choices most mornings.

After a lazy breakfast, we had a short ride to Lung Khuy Cave. The cave was beautiful, and well worth the walk in. After seeing this cave and Sung Sot on Ha Long Bay, it has given us a taste of wanting to complete some cave expeditions in Vietnam. Markus showing us photos of his expeditions and sharing his travel stories may have also contributed.

It was then a short drive to Twin Mountains, which H'mong folklore says are a pair of breasts left on Earth by a fairy after she was forced to return back to heaven by the Heavenly King. Safe to say, it makes for some rather fun photo opportunities.

Of course, the drive wouldn't be the same without a stop for a delicious iced salt coffee paired with wonderous mountain views.

We arrived back at the Infinity Ha Giang Hostel at 2pm, where we were gifted our Loop Finisher shirts, and said our goodbyes to our drivers. We were both close to tears as we gave them a hug and thanked them for their amazing driving skills (in very trying conditions at times), their kindness, care and most importantly for ensuring we had the best time ever.

We are suffering from an extreme emotional hangover now that our Loop experience has ended. Nothing will ever pay this experience the justice it deserves - not the photos, not the videos, not our words. This has truly been a once in a lifetime opportunity. It isn't just the amazing scenery that makes the Ha Giang Loop truly unforgettable (and trust us, the scenery just does not end. Just when you think it can't get any better, it does, and then it gets better again), it is having children wave at you as you go through tiny villages, it is sharing stories of culture with your guides and teaching them Aussie slang they didn't know they needed **continued in comments**
