The rescheduled Imbolc Mixed Media Tarot Collage is coming up on the 1st March!
We're going to be exploring symbolism, colour and tarot combined with our own intentions for the year and our own personal imagery to create several playing card sized gorgeous little artworks to adorn the walls, give to a loved one or to remind us what we want to take into the coming year. Spring is fast approaching and the year of the horse waits for noone... The time for planting seeds and ruminating will give me way to abundance, new life and forward momentum!
Ticket link in Bio and on headfirst!

Just a little process video of a personalised card I made for a pal for their birthday with colours and words that I believe represent who they are and elements of their character ive seen blossoming lately and to show my pals that I see them and want them to remember who the fuck they are. I love creating these tarot inspired cards and if you want to create your own come along to my Imbolc Tarot inspired Collage workshop on the 1st February!

14th december 2-4pm we will be creating Silk Clay Charms! Get stuck in solo, bring a friend or date 👀 and make something for yourself or for a loved one for Christmas and just enjoy the play and process of making!
TICKET LINK IN BIO

We will be using silk clay and embellishments to create your own mirror clay charm to hang on the wall or keep as a totem or gift to a loved one over the festive season!
This will be a session where I can guide you with symbolism from folklore and how to create your own sigils or you're welcome to freestyle baby!
I will be facilitating a self reflective and social space to help build creative confidence, hopefully you'll be able to engage with other humans there and leave with some new skills and some joy alongside your clay mirror charms!
You will leave with an item of your own making with the option to use a little mirror within your design! Or you can leave with a couple of slightly smaller charms!

Trans Day of Remembrance decompression space and vigil stream

📍Watershed Room W2
⏰ Thursday 20th November 7-9.30pm

Please join us as we mark Trans Day of Remembrance by coming together as a community to remember those we have lost and dream of a better future.

We will have crafts and snacks as well as a quiet space to decompress. There will be a mixture of beanbags, floor space and chairs for everyone to sit on. Feel free to just drop-in and out of the space as you like.

We will be live-streaming the Trans Pride Bristol vigil that is taking place at St George’s from 7.30 for anyone who is unable to access the main vigil or would rather access this from a decompression space.

We ask that everyone wears a Covid mask - please bring your own and we will have some on the door.

We’ll be confirming final details next week, watch this space!

This is a collaboration with @transpridebristol and @bristoltfc, check out their pages to see what else is happening to mark Trans Day of Remembrance.

ID: Timms
Review:
The basics
🧑‍🦼🔥👩‍🦯🔥👩‍🦽

What is it?
Review of PIP and it’s assessment
which the government promised
would include disabled voices

What is it?
Review of PIP and it’s assessment
which the government promised
would include disabled voices
How is it being done?
Stephens Timms will consult
with a small, mostly disabled
panel of people he has chosen

Why are we worried?
It seem that the main aim of this review is to save money, rather than to benefit disabled people. The review is also facing problems.

Does the government have to listen to the results?
No, it will be advice, which they are not legally required to follow

‼️🕢
9th of July
MPs vote to delay pip changes until after Timms review as part of UC and PIP bill

27th of August
Charities write to Timms to ensure disabled people are included in the review

1st of September
DWP announced an Independent Disability Advisory Panel, but said it would require members to sign an NDA

27th of September
Online protest by DPAC Cymru and Disability Rebellion against the panel

9th of October
Wes Streeting announces a review into whether mental health and neurodivergent conditions are overdiagnosed

30th of October
After reports Timms was struggling to recruit for his panel, online applications opened on the government website.

🪡 What can I do?
Three actions to take:

Do not participate in the Timms review or apply to join the panel

Email your MP opposing the review, make it clear that the panel doesn’t speak for you

Support people in your community affected by the increased disability stigma this creates (Everyone has value regardless of ability to work)

🧭 Glossary
DPAC - Disabled people against cuts
DWP - department for work and pensions, the people responsible for benefits
NDA - Non- disclosure agreement, prevents “sensitive” information being shared
PIP- personal independence payments, a disability benefit paid regardless of income
Stephen Timms - Minister of State for Social Security and Disability
UC and PIP bill - Bill introduced to cut disability benefits
Wes Streeting- Secretary of State for Health an An image of a manual wheelchair with flames in the wheels. Inside the flames it says "TIMMS REVIEW".

Here's an example of a pocket altar I made with golden/red warped silk for the outside with an eye for protection, inside was red velvet material with dried flowers, a hag stone, sigils for protection, connection and freedom to connect with who I am! I used hand sewing, tin cans, material, trinkets from my home and embellishments to create this piece!
This is what you could be making as a finished item on Monday 10th at my Pocket Altar workshop!
TICKETS ARE IN MY BIO OR ON HEADFIRST.

On the 16th November 2-4pm at @cafekino I will be hosting a Clay Wall Candle Altar workshop!
I'm so excited to be lighting up the darkness of winter with this workshop! 😏
Its going to be a gorgeous time to create our own sigils and then create a beautiful candle holder to adorn our walls or as a beautiful gift! This can be used alongside spell work, can take any shape you like and contain any symbolism you like!
Tickets are in my bio or on headfirst!
