This is Providence’s FIRST net-zero building! 🎉

The Roger Williams Park Gateway Center transforms a former barrier into a welcoming passage between Broad Street and the historic park.

With water-retention features, 💧 educational opportunities, 📚 and a sustainable design, 🌱 it has turned blacktop into a vibrant community amenity.

Designed by Inform Studio and engineered by Craft Engineering, the Origami stair serves as a striking creative focal point for Equinox Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, D.C. The installation is characterised by crisp lines and sharply defined facets that evoke the precision of folded origami.

We fabricated the monocoque structure using digitally driven technologies, employing five axis water jet cutting to achieve precise facet geometry and exceptionally crisp panel joints.

Every city will grow: more housing, more transit, more engagement.
And every expansion leaves a footprint.

Globally, construction and demolition already produce over a third of the world’s waste. That’s the concrete, steel, and glass legacy we rarely talk about, and it’s expected to double by 2050.
So the question isn’t whether we should build.

This is where circular urban design comes in: cities that regenerate rather than exhaust, where architecture, planning, and infrastructure align with ecology.

And it’s exactly what the Sustainable Urban Design Summit will explore this November at Newlab Detroit.

From sustainable design to smart mobility and equitable neighborhood development, the summit brings together people who aren’t just imagining better cities, they’re building them.
