It’s Garden Day in South Africa and it feels perfect. Thank you to @cabanamagazine for my inclusion in their ‘Atlas of Craftmanship! What an honour! The Atlas of Craftmanship is Cabana’s encyclopaedic quest to pay homage to global craft and its appreciation. One of its main tenets, which is close to my practice and heart, is the preservation of the practice and production of craft as a fine art. #AtlasOfCraft #AtlasOfCraftsmanship. A proud moment for our team - named Interior Design Studio of the Year for the second consecutive year at the SCAPE Awards of Excellence 2026.

We also took home Collaboration of the Year for Field Notes, alongside The Mill and Weylandts, Unbuilt Project of the Year for an exciting project in the Karoo and a high commendation for our Magugu Suite project with @thebemagugu.

A memorable evening at Quoin Rock, celebrating alongside the people and studios shaping our industry.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. It is a privilege to be recognised alongside such exceptional talent in the South African design industry.

Illusions of Autonomy - online 21/10/2026

Contemporary society frequently celebrates the independence, leadership, and empowerment of modern women. However, this narrative of linear progress often masks a more complex reality. Beneath the surface of social advancement lies a sharp contradiction: the promise of absolute freedom alongside the systemic rollback of rights, the heavy burden of modern expectations, and the ongoing policing of women’s bodies.
