It started with two goats and a question. Mary Keehn of Cypress Grove wasn’t trying to build a cheese company. She was trying to feed her kids better.

Two goats turned into four, and soon after, Mary had more. A lot of goats meant a lot of milk, and that’s where she put her curious thoughts to life.

What followed wasn’t linear. It was trial, instinct, and figuring it out in real time. From self-taught beginnings to studying in France, Mary brought it back to Humboldt County and created Humboldt Fog®. Their dairy is managed with the health and happiness of the herd at the center, reflected in 100% scores from the American Humane Association and Certified Humane.
