Phoenix Bodies - split 12“ with Enkephalin 2003 on Slave Union and Init Records + split 7“ with Raein 2004 on Crucificados Pelo Sistema and Init Records.
Phoenix Bodies were a screamo/grindcore band from Indiana, active from 2001 to 2011. They put out a lot of EPs, 7“s and split releases but only one full-length album, 2006’s Raise The Bullshit Flag with 16 minutes runtime. I saw them on one of the legendary Cry Me A River fests in 2007. Sense is out of style.

So I started a thing. The band @newdayrising_official really was a starting point for a bunch of lives (in varying degrees) in music. A lot of that music is somewhat unknown or flies under the radar.
So, I started @newdayrisingfamilyofmusic
An online archive/ information hub for bands related to members of NDR
*
Over the years, the members of
New Day Rising have continued to
create, write and play a LOT of music.
This is a social media hub/ongoing
archive for most things related
to the increasing musical output of
members of the band. This is where
you’ll find information about current
and past music; links to that music
as well as news of any new releases.

Expect information about Nasu, Pale
Drone, The Black Maria, Montgomery
21, Spread The Disease and many
many more.

Thanks for following along.

.
In Loving Memory
Hellfest 2026
Carteret, NJ
July 5th, 2026

In Loving Memory played on Sunday of Hellfest 2026.

Inevitably at every fest, there are a handful of bands that you just hadn’t heard before. I usually head to Bandcamp about a week beforehand to check out what new bands I’m photographing there. I then take notes that I only would understand that sound like weird micro-genres such as “deth screamo” and “HH-core”. My notes for ILM were “2xsing, 00’s scream, old/young?”

They were a band I was looking forward to seeing and while I liked what I heard at Bandcamp, their live show was what will have me going to see them again. Some bands just have an intensity live that draws you in and ILM are one of them.

I ran into various members of ILM over the weekend and as someone I know said “they are the nicest human beings on planet earth.” He wasn’t wrong.

#InLovingMemory #ZegemaBeachRecords #AsYearsPassAndFeelLikeSeconds #initrecords #hellfest2026
