ONE YEAR OF ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL 🧡 This one is hard to believe. Just a year ago, Always Have, Always Will came out. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but I had this tiny hope that maybe a few people would connect with this place and the stories in my head. Since then… this little book has changed my life. It led to YOU - friendships I’ll have forever, bookstores I never imagined seeing my books in, and opportunities I couldn’t have dreamed up if I’d tried. More than anything, it gave me the confidence to keep writing. So if you’ve ever bought this book, recommended it, left a review, posted a picture, or simply spent a few hours with these characters… thank you. Truly. You helped make all of this possible. Happy first birthday to my OG book baby. The one that started it all. 🥹🫶✨ PS - There are soooo many people to thank and tag in here and IG only lets me tag a handful, so apologies if I miss anyone!!!

★★★★★ “If only there could be an invention that bottled up a memory, like scent. And it never faded, and it never got stale.” — the second Mrs. de Winter, Rebecca, Daphne du Maurier I can honestly say Rebecca has become my favorite classic novel. This was my first time reading it as part of my friend Kelsey’s book club, @inked_fictions, over on Fable, where we’ve been reading classic literature together. I was a little behind finishing this month’s pick, but wow… this book absolutely lived up to the hype. Daphne du Maurier masterfully builds an atmosphere so haunting and immersive that Manderley feels like a character all its own. The slow-burning tension, the psychological suspense, and the constant feeling that something isn’t quite right had me completely captivated from beginning to end. The unnamed narrator’s struggle with identity, the suffocating shadow Rebecca casts long after her death, and the unforgettable Mrs. Danvers make this one of the most unsettling and beautifully written Gothic novels I’ve ever read. It’s elegant, eerie, and impossible to put down once the mystery begins to unravel. If you’ve been intimidated by classics, let this be your sign to pick this one up. I already know it’s a book I’ll revisit someday. And now I’m so excited to dive into East of Eden with Kelsey and everyone in her book club this month! #Rebecca #DaphneDuMaurier #Bookstagram #ClassicLiterature #GothicReads
