POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday, I had the most beautiful time celebrating Imbolc at Minster Abbey, led by the wonderful Katie Hebditch. ✨

For those who don’t know, Imbolc is an ancient festival marking the halfway point between winter and spring. It’s a time of quiet stirring—the earth beginning to wake, the first signs of new life emerging. Traditionally, it’s associated with St Brigid (or the goddess Brigid before her), a symbol of fertility, creativity, and the returning light.

We gathered to honour her story, weaving Brigid crosses, sharing food we had all brought, planting seeds of our own and walking together to spot the first snowdrops pushing through the frost-hardened soil—a reminder that even in the depths of winter, life is already preparing to bloom. I wrote a little poem whilst we had a few minute to journal in the sunshine. I am not always but I felt brave enough to share it.

What a gift to spend time with such an open, kind, and inspiring group of people, embracing the shift in the seasons with warmth and reflection. 💫

Grateful for these small but powerful reminders: Spring is on its way. New beginnings are stirring. Light is returning. 🌱
