Volunteering at the We Care Arts Evening at the Races fundraising event was incredible! I was so inspired by the way the Dayton community came together to support such an incredible nonprofit. 💖

Medicine may heal the body but art heals the heart.

Art therapy reminds us that healing isn’t only physical, it’s emotional, mental, and deeply personal.
Through painting, dancing, or singing, individuals are given a safe space to express themselves in a way words often cannot.

@wecarearts is all about healing through art therapy, creating a safe creative outlet for the elderly and differently abled. Throughout our charity auction I was deeply inspired by the works of our artist clients such as Theresa, whose painting brought us into her view of the world with cerebral palsy, Kelsey, who’s art became her a voice to convey her thoughts and emotions, and Angela, whose many talents in the performing arts have never been defined by her Down syndrome diagnosis.

In just one evening, our community helped us raise over $100,000 to fund scholarships for our artist clients. I’m so grateful to have played a small part in such an incredible event and to help continue creating opportunities for these artists to heal and thrive through their craft.

Last night I attended First Friday on Front Street to see the gallery preview for the Together We Care Gala. It was the first time I got to see the final piece completed and framed that @andaelentari and I collaborated on over the past few months. To say I was elated to see not only our project, but all of the artist pairing projects, would be an understatement! It was an honor and a privilege to be part of program supporting @wecarearts I can't wait for the Gala at the end of the month!

In the mean time, check out these incredible works of art that will be up for auction very soon! I'll pop back in later with a more detailed view of the piece Elizabeth and I worked on, along with a little info about the experience.

Team We Care Arts!

While not ALL of our Staff was able to participate in this REEL-life team-building exercise because they were busy saving the world, the We Care Arts Team members are the most mission-driven group of individuals in the universe! We empower healing through Art and Community. Our job is to help our Artist clients be seen for their artistic abilities rather than their disability or diagnosis.

We do this work because WE Care and the impact that our staff makes everyday deserves to be CELEBRATED 🎉so please help me in showing appreciation to our amazing team!!
