WHO ARE THE AZDORE? Although we come from different backgrounds, we were brought together by a shared opportunity to program, quickly discovering a mutual desire to approach cinema in a different way. What began as a conversation soon evolved into a collective way of working. In our modest way, we aim to create space for new and unexpected voices and champion works that often remain on the margins. At the same time, we support one another in navigating an industry that can be challenging to enter and even harder to feel a part of. In Romagna, the azdore were far more than “housewives.” They were the beating heart of the household: keepers of everyday knowledge, quiet directors of domestic life, skilled hands rolling fresh pasta, but also authoritative figures who held together generations, rhythms, and relationships. The word carries a sense of understated strength, a form of leadership rooted not in visibility but in care, continuity, and creation. Choosing the name azdore for our film collective means aligning ourselves with this legacy: a way of making cinema grounded in gesture, listening, and collaboration. Like the azdore, we work collectively, weaving together stories, images, and perspectives to build a shared space where each voice contributes to the whole.

Solidarity FM is back and taking over Uus Laine on Sunday 21st of June, this time as a one-day film festival, in support of Refugee Week 2026. We are excited to announce the 2026 Refugee Week Film Festival – a curated programme of short and feature-length films exploring themes of displacement, migration, belonging, and community, from around the world. Films: TSKALTUBO (2023) (tskahll-TOO-boh) dir. Toby Andris MIGRANTS (2020) dir. Hugo Caby, Antoine Dupriez, Aubin Kubiak, Lucas Lermytte, Zoé Devise A WORLD NOT OURS (2014) dir. MAHDI FLEIFEL The doors open at 12:00. The film program starts at 14:00. The event is free of charge. The event is hosted by Vivek Jain. Vivek Jain is an artist, filmmaker and cultural worker, exploring the entangled narratives of the social, political and philosophical. His work is polyphonic in its expression and thematic in its approach. It is not tied to a single medium and is a form of resistance against disciplinary ideas. He is currently engaged in practice-led artistic research, A Seeker’s Guide to Belonging, reconceptualising cinema as an expansive medium, exploring precarity at the intersection of filmmaking and contemporary art practices. One of the key nodes of the research engages with the practice of Collective Cinema. www.innominatevivek.com Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. The festival is a partnership project coordinated by Counterpoints Arts. https://refugeeweek.org/

Time to introduce the sound wizards taking care of our auditory sense and good vibes at the flea market and commanding the dance floor till early morning already on Friday! DJ THEY/THEM will kick off the flea market playing anything and everything queer! 🌈 WATARU YOSHIMOTO is conceptual artist from Japan. As a DJ, he covers a variety of genres, including DnB, Hardgroove, and other rhythm-based styles, creating energetic and engaging sets. INNOMINATE is a sound aficionado, who has played once before, after a 5-minute tutorial from a dear friend. What he doesn't have in skills, he can make up for with taste and curiosity. The set will be a potpourri of audios from international techno-grunge & hip-hop to indie bollywood, & chenda beats — a frenzy of emotions reminiscent of his migratory experience.
