It may have taken me a few months, but I finally took a picture with my latest Conqueror Challenge medal — The Galápagos Islands: 1,162 km ✅ 🥹🏅

I loveeee these challenges, especially as someone who struggled with chronic illness for over a decade.
This medal might not seem particularly special to someone else…

But to me?
It’s a celebration of what my body HAS been able to accomplish. ❤️

I spent years feeling held back by and resentful of my body and my health struggles.

Tracking my movement and seeing what I can do has helped me repair my relationship with my body, my health and fitness.

Most days, my movement looked like walking, running, mat Pilates, strength training, etc.

There were also extra-special experiences that made the journey even more meaningful — like hiking through beautiful places like Yellowstone and Whitefish ⛰️🥾 with people I love.

I love looking back at each challenge and seeing not just the km’s, but all the different activities I did and the memories attached to them. 🥹

When you run a race, you get a medal 🏅 for the day you ran the race.
And that’s awesome.

But what I LOVE about The Conqueror Challenges is that you can track all the different ways you move your body and you get a medal for the JOURNEY.

And that means so much more to me.

It encourages me to move daily even when I’m tired, “busy,” or when it’s absolutely freaking freezing outside and I have to convince myself to get my 🍑 out the door for a walk. 😂

Every little bit of movement adds up.

And eventually, you look back and realize…
Holy shit. Look what my body did. 🥹❤️

These virtual fitness challenges have meant SO much to me on my journey that I even gifted one to a friend who is struggling with chronic health issues. I wanted her to experience that feeling too.

To have something that celebrates what she CAN do, rather than constantly focusing on what her body currently makes difficult.

Because sometimes, when you’ve spent years feeling like your body is failing you, having something that reminds you of what it can do is incredibly powerful.

This medal isn’t just a medal to me.

It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come. ❤️

This summer I did my first “virtual fitness challenge.”

They’re so cool because you can completely customize how you want to complete them, what you count as “fitness.”

You can track any of these plus more: steps, walks/runs, weights, Pilates, yoga 🧘‍♀️, rowing, spinning, biking 🚴, etc etc (they have a ton of options of “fitness” activities and it converts the time you spent doing it to a distance to add up).

For my first challenge I did it as a “rucking” challenge. I personally just tracked my weighted walks and set a km goal and a timeframe I wanted to have it completed by.

As someone who struggled with chronic health issues for years and recovered very poorly from workouts, these challenges felt so accessible and really helped to build my confidence back up as I became more active again and it made me feel like even with my fitness level, I could feel apart of something and celebrated for what my body could do 🫶🏼.

How these virtual fitness challenges work is:

➡️You pick your challenge, there’s tons to choose from!
➡️You choose your distance, most have a short and long one
➡️Purchase it and start tracking your mileage via their really cool app, when you finish, you receive your medal (they’re literally THEE coolest & most unique medals 🏅out there)
They also have a super supportive facebook group

I’ve found I’ve worked out and moved my body much more knowing that I’m working towards a bigger goal! It literally is a huge reason why I’m confident, even when life’s happening, when it’s cold or when it’s harder to prioritize getting in moving your body.

I’m currently working on my second 😁virtual challenge because they are addicting! 🚀

Yesterday, I completed the 15km ruck at the Run/Walk/Ruck for Mental Health—and it felt like a breeze.✨

A few years ago, I was deep in chronic illness, with such poor recovery that consistent workouts felt draining 😞. So to be here now—walking 👣 15km with a weighted vest, full of energy 🔋—feels incredible. I’m deeply grateful for this body, my health, and this moment 💕.

My word of the year was “active”—and this was one of those powerful reminders that movement doesn’t have to look a certain way to be meaningful.

If you’ve struggled with your health or in the thick of it right now, maybe you’ve felt left out of the “fitness” world.

➡️You’re the one who inspires me.
Not the lifelong athletes.
Not the people who’ve always had good health.
But the ones who’ve had to fight.
Who try again and again despite the setbacks.

When I first thought about signing up for this event, I didn’t know if I’d be able to do 15km. I had just eased back into consistent movement. But I tried. And fell in love with rucking—walking with a weighted vest or pack. It’s become something I enjoy, even on the days I feel off.

And can we talk about the running/walking community?!

Strangers cheering you on & joy in every direction—regardless of your speed. I’ve never felt more supported. 🥹

To anyone on a bumpy health journey:

And the best part? Entry fees supported a beautiful cause—mental health programs in our community.

Spending diaries 📔 of a financial coach 👩🏻‍💻

For context, I have typically 2-3 days a month, when I go to the city and have appointments, pick up groceries 🛒 & run all of my errands.

Myofunctional therapy 👅 assessment $145
Lunch: $24 🥗
Dollarama Miscellaneous: $33
Horse 🐴 Halter: $61
Walmart Miscellaneous: $10
Groceries 🍏 (order on PC Express app and then pickup) $151

Total: $424

As soon as I got home I totalled up my spending and paid my credit card 💳 off in full.

Then transferred money 💰 from my savings buckets 🪣, to cover the expenses that I save for in those categories.

Having a system in place to manage my money makes everything so much less stressful!

Now that tax season is over, let's take a moment to reflect on how stressful it can be to get hit with a big tax bill. 😫

I know it's not a pleasant feeling, but the good news is that next year can be totally different if you start taking steps right now!!! 💪

Reducing stress at tax time comes from preparing yourself literally a year ahead of time, not in March. Here are some steps you can take to make next year's tax season a breeze:

1️⃣ Keep your books up-to-date 📚

Throughout the year, make sure you're keeping track of your income & expenses.

This will make it easier to calculate your net income (the amount you're taxed on) and avoid any surprises.

2️⃣ Set aside a portion of your net income each month 💰

Depending on the specifics of your life, your income & where you live, save roughly 20-30%

I recommend keeping this money in a separate savings account, so you're not tempted to spend it. 💳

3️⃣ Work with your accountant throughout the year: 👨💼

Don't wait until the last minute to think about your taxes.

Don't stress your accountant out by throwing a shoebox of receipts at them in March and expecting them to work miracles. They're already drinking enough coffee as it is! ☕

By taking these steps now, you can avoid the stress and anxiety that comes with tax season.
