how do I begin to describe how much ima has given me over the past two years? Ive felt so lucky to work amongst the most kind, caring, diligent, and intelligent colleagues, and to educate the most sensitive, curious, genuine, and inspiring students. I cried a lot over the past weeks, because I feel like the world is alright where this community exists. our students are going into the world, and they’re going to be ok, because they’re so so good.

It’s hard to say goodbye. It’s so rare to be able to educate in a way that I believe in. To teach things I wish to have learned in school, and to be a teacher I wish that I had. and to teach alongside amazing people who are really passionate and serious about liberal arts education (and are holding onto the “arts” in the “interactive media”). thank you @interactivemediaarts for taking a chance on me when I was still a young adjunct. my colleagues at ima, the ai&culture center, and everyone I’ve met through @nyushanghai — thank you 🥺 i hope our paths will cross again, and soon

congrats class of 2026, I feel like I’ve graduated with you too.

The end of an era. NYU and IMA gave me so much for this past twelve years that I hardly have words to express. It’s always bittersweet to send off our students, with a mix of knowing we will miss them, and that they are ready. As you may know, this graduation ceremony was a bit special. I even enjoyed an Argentinian tango, which felt like a dedicated farewell to me.
