$Big shout out to the @inthedream_11 for doing these comparsions in his review 🙏 It’s so so sad that band capable of writing such unique soul touching masterpieces, like Tellurian and Lykaia were, has chosen to go down this repetitive route where writing music is no longer about deep exploration and further development of unique exclusive sound but it’s about sticking to a factory like crafted generic simple formula, which works on the paper only to reach the numbers of listeners but lacks face, identity and soul. (song that immediately comes to mind is SOUND OF MUZAK by PORCUPINE TREE and its really sad message..) How can I trust Joel, singing about not giving up to a identity crushing system in a chorus, when it sounds like it’s from 5FDP (or other radio acceptable band) song?! Where are all the dynamics? Where are the bass lines? //: Nasty riff -> verse -> four chord pre chorus with ride cymbal -> anthemic hall sing along chorus with either UNBREAKABLE-esque cleanish guitar overdub, playing fifths of chords or VIOLENCE-esque meaty distorded guitars -> verse -> prechorus -> chorus -> Cody’s bluesy shredding -> moment of lower dynamic with only vocals and keys -> big moment chorus :\\ (repeat) And the lyrics? Where are the explorations of human nature, mind and soul? It’s just that “hevy metöll” cheesy “We fight againts the system, it’s us or them, we’re not like them, we have to stay strong, we are united” etc…. And don’t get me wrong🙏 I love IMPERIAL and really like MEMORIAL - which in my opinion works as a whole, being that angry heavy metal rock direct ‘straight to the point’ record.. But this one? It’s just a sterile soulless factory like product based mostly on the sound of its predecessor but cut down and simplified in all aspects to each and every note and lyric…. And the cover art looked so promising😔.. #soen #soenreliance #reliance #review$
