I got to work from home today so decided to bring a shelter dog home to keep me company. Did you know that just a few hours out of the shelter can make a dog 5x more adoptable?

Sylvie had a home for 5yrs before her family brought her back to the shelter for becoming reactive to their other dog. When she returned she had 6 broken and rotten teeth that had to be removed surgically. This best girl is so sweet and happy, and doesn’t understand why she’s back in the shelter living in a kennel 23hrs a day. She deserves a true forever home but in the meantime she loves a day or weekend out to get a break.

Someone got a special delivery today! 📦🐾💜

Figgy was SO excited about her new treat toy, and watching her little face light up was everything! 🥹

It’s supposed to keep dogs entertained for 20 minutes… well, Miss Figgy made it a whole 25! 😂👏

Now that Figgy is finally getting to enjoy life in a home, watching her discover all these little things has been the sweetest part of fostering her. Every new toy is an adventure, every day brings something exciting, and she’s soaking up every bit of it! 🥹💜

One thing’s for sure… Figgy’s future family better be ready with a toy basket FULL of goodies, because this girl has some serious catching up to do! 😂🐶💜

Of all the urgent dogs at @fultonanimalservices this week Union is breaking my heart a little extra. At one and a half he should be running around enjoying life but instead he’s stuck in a kennel learning the world isn’t always a scary place. He is slowly coming out of his shell and showing his true personality! We think he would do well with a doggie sibling. 45lbs and HW- he just needs someone with a little extra love to give and a little extra patience to show him he is safe💕 #adopt #fyp #fosteringsaveslives #love #georgia

URGENT: Trevor and Farley must have commitment by NOON on Monday 10/5. They received an extension, and now our shelter is FULL again. Located in Polk County AC in Cedartown, GA 🚨

Farley and Trevor came in together as older pups. They had been living on the streets or roaming the countryside with little to no human attention or socialization. 🥺 When they first arrived, they were both trembling with fear. 💔

But with time, patience, and consistency, we started earning their trust. ❤️🐾

Farley is more trusting than Trevor, but both boys have made progress. 🙏 It took time and work to get them comfortable enough to leave their kennels and spend time together. Slowly, they began to relax, warm up to us, and show us the sweet dogs they can become. 🥹❤️

🌱 This is a process. They need someone who understands dogs like them — someone experienced with decompression, confidence building, patience, and slow introductions to new people, new environments, and new experiences. 🏡❤️

✨ They are young. They have potential. They have so much life ahead of them. ✨

They absolutely DO NOT deserve a death sentence because humans failed them. 😭💔

One week ago today, 12 beautiful souls, lost their lives at Rockdale County AC in Conyers Georgia. At the time, Rockdale had 73 dogs in their care, and their max capacity is 40 dogs. Look at all of those red X marks on their faces. They all deserved a second chance at life.

dogs are continuously pouring into this shelter. The intake is astronomical. Today, there are 66 dogs at the shelter. That means today, without your help, more dogs are going to die.

there are so many dogs that there is not an official list at this time. That means that each, and every dog is at risk!

any emptied kennel saves a life. Go to the Rockdale County animal control website, go to their Facebook page, call the shelter and see how you can help. If you are a rescue, please reach out to the shelter and we will help arrange vetting and Transport.

do not let there be another day of death at this shelter. We can make a difference TOGETHER 🙏
