It’s an honor to create resources for kids and families. Today, after years of love-filled work, After: A Survivors Story is being released. This picture book intends to remind children that they are still strong after experiencing gun violence, even when they do not feel like it. This book was written with care and heart—possible because of the touching and honest input from young survivors, their parents, leaders of gun prevention organizations, filmmakers covering the topic of gun violence, and passionate activists. In the coming weeks, I look forward to telling you more about these collaborators, the book team, and the one person who sparked it all. For now, I am simply humbled to share this book.
